Undeniable Evidence: Iran feeding Iraqi Insurgency

I basically sum up this article in 8 facts……

  1. This is the gun that has claimed 170 American and British soldiers lives.
  2. The Steyr HS50 is a long range, high precision .50 caliber rifle.
  3. The rifle can pierce all body armour from up to a mile and penetrate armoured Humvee troop carriers.  It is highly accurate and fires a round called an armour piercing incendiary, a bullet that the Iranians manufacture.The National Iranian Police Organisation bought the rifles allegedly to use them against drug smugglers in an £8 million order placed with Steyr in 2005. 
  4. The company was given permission to export them by the Austrian government, which is not a Nato member
  5. More than 100 of the.50 calibre weapons, capable of penetrating body armour, have been discovered by American troops during raids.
  6. The guns were part of a shipment of 800 rifles that the Austrian company, Steyr-Mannlicher, exported legally to Iran last year.
  7. The sale was condemned in Washington and London because officials were worried that the weapons would be used by insurgents against British and American troops.
  8. Within 45 days of the first HS50 Steyr Mannlicher rifles arriving in Iran, an American officer in an armoured vehicle was shot dead by an Iraqi insurgent using the weapon.

Not to mention what they found out about the IED’s in Iraq.

I just have one question? What does Goerge W. Bush do now? Sit on your thumbs and pray for diplomacy? after it’s already too late anyway

    The 170 lives lost are the ones that were supposedly killed by Iranian IEDS, not 50 calibre weapons. So far, 50 calibre rounds are only proven to have killed one US soldier thus far.

    Bush is responsible for 3000 Americans dead for no good reason. Iraq is in chaos, Iran is not far behind. Terror cell activity has increased 1000% because of the invasion. America is in MORE danger not less. Americans have to ask themselves who has profitted from this Invasion of Iraq. Certainly the Fundamentalist Shiites have profitted, they now control most of Iraq. Certainly the Military Industrial complex has profitted. America has spent 400 BILLLION plus dollars, millions of which have simply been “lost” by Bechtel, Halliburton, etc.

    We don’t control the oil, although we ARE pushing for 30 year term contracts with the Iraqi leaders who we have put in control. Which won’t mean much if the country continues its civil war.

    The American people haven’t profitted. To finance this war, Bush has cut taxes for the multi millionaires of America while simultaneously cutting health programs, college tuition aid, food programs for poverty stricken children, and EVEN VETERANS BENEFITS. Only the richest of Americans have benefitted from the policies of this President. This war is a farce. No Americans would be dead in Iraq if we had not have strayed from our duties in Afghanistan, which I might add, is NOW nearing as complete a failure as Iraq is because we lost our focus there.

    While Cheney foments discord in the middle east to increase volatility and his stock market profile, soldiers (pawns) die needlessly.

    If we attack Iran, it will be an even worse mistake than Iraq. It’s easy to talk about killing and war and blindly striking back at those we declare to be “Enemies”. What isn’t so easy is finding a path the leads to REAL benefits for Americans and not just knee jerk shock tactics. Iran is not a threat to America, just like Iraq wasn’t a threat to America and was not responsible for 9-11.

    It’s all just a bunch of rich political assholes feeding our troops into the meat grinder so they can hoard more money.

    Your anti-bush rhetoric is not surprising to me. The left THRIVE off their Bush hatred, and it seems so easy to take the “I hate Bush, cause he’s a moron” stance. We’ve heard it all before, we hear it everyday in the mainstream media. It gets old! We all know the President has articulation issues, and that’s really just the tip of the iceberg with his stance on certain issues. What we have to realize is that there is a GREATER threat that people are not distinguishing. There are a people, a culture who wish to control ALL aspects of government, these people are Islamic fundamentalists. Different countries all over the world are battling this “extremism” that is really just the Muslim communities trying to take over, and institute Islamic governments under Sharia Law! Why do you BLIND FOOLS on the left continue to blame America, blame BUSH, blame Christianity. IT makes absolutely no sense. Yea Bush may be a mis-informed, inarticulate leader, but I don’t think his sole purpose is to make American’s lives worse off. Quit focusing on our dumb dumb leader, and recognize the REAL threat to our freedom, our civilization, and our way of life as we know it. I appreciate your comments but I urge you to re-consider one statement you made, that defines the idiocy of the left:

    You threw it in so mildly but this is CRUCIAL. YOU DONT SEE A THREAT FROM IRAN? Do I need to do an entire post with backlinks and references PROVING that Iran is threatening to WIPE ISREAL OFF THE MAP? How can you blindly IGNORE the Mullah’s puppet???

    Thank you for taking the time to write a passionate comment, and I believe your intentions are good; just know that your blinding yourself from the REAL threat of Islamofascism the ENTIRE WORLD is fighting right now.

    Its been about another year. Changed your mind, yet? What you call my anti-bush rhetoric is really just my Pro-American mindset. Please spare the “left” name calling, George Friedman, the CEO of Stratfor can hardly be considered liberal whatsoever. It’s food for thought. I welcome any and all perspectives.
