Do you really think the UK will go forward with war if any of these soldiers are killed? I have a feeling that the pacifistic nature of Britian would lead them to appease a little more, let them get away with a little more, all hoping to create "dialouge for peace". Why can't anyone stand up to a fight when it's staring them in the face? It doesn't make sense to me. Interesting point of view with you being from the UK. Our response has been weak and cowardly. I am ashamed of our government, and elements of the media, even the right-wing media who are all favouring the diplomatic approach. What Iran has done is an act of war, and we should have given them a deadline to release the soldiers and bombed them if they failed to comply. Our government is being consistent though. It criticised Israel last year for going after Hezbollah after they did a similar thing. The only mistake Israel made last year though was that they were hesitant, and they were too defensive. I wonder what the UK will do if the soldiers are killed? It seems that we only go to war if the US does, and we won't dare go to war without them. This is our problem though, not the problem of the US. Though the US lead the liberation of Iraq, I'm sure the US would cooperate with us if we lead an attack on Iran. There would be bombing/attacks/protecting your soldiers first, questions and "diplomacy" later. For some reason that movie with Russel Crowe in the Royal Navy, "Master and Commander: Far Side of the World" comes to mind. I hardly imagine Capt. Jack Aubry sitting by while his soldiers are captured, and not sending several cannonballs into the enemy ships. Can you imagine if this had happened to past British Navy?
