CAIR is making plenty of news in the last couple days. The NY Times is also getting into the act. I figured I would shed a little light on some direct quotes spoken directly from those high up in this organization. All quotes are linked and referenced if you are skeptical of these statements.
“Those who stay in America should be open to society without melting, keeping Mosques open so anyone can come and learn about Islam. If you choose to live here, you have a responsibility to deliver the message of Islam … Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faiths, but to become dominant. The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” – Omar Ahmed, Co-Founder of CAIR.
“I wouldn’t want to create the impression that I wouldn’t like the government of
the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future…But I’m not going to do anything violent to promote that. I’m going to do it through education.” – Ibrahim Hooper – CAIR Spokesperson
“Some people try to hold us responsible for the actions of people that
are associated with our organization. That’s absolutely ludicrous …
you don’t hold all of Enron responsible for what Ken Lay did.” – Corey Saylor, CAIR Director of Government Affairs
“We are to the American Muslim community what the NAACP is to blacks in America. If you attack us, you are attacking the Muslim community and the religion of Islam in this country.” – Ahmed Batier, CAIR-Florida, Communications Director (Mpls Star-Trib -10/24/06)
