Membership of CAIR is down 90 Percent since 2001

Membership in the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has declined more than 90 percent since the 2001 terrorist attacks, according to tax documents obtained by The Washington Times.

The number of reported members spiraled down from more than 29,000 in 2000 to fewer than 1,700 in 2006. As a result, the Muslim rights group’s annual income from dues dropped from $732,765 in 2000, when yearly dues cost $25, to $58,750 last year, when the group charged $35.

The organization instead is relying on about two dozen donors a year to contribute the majority of the money for CAIR’s budget, which reached nearly $3 million last year.

Asked about the decline, Parvez Ahmed, CAIR’s board chairman, pointed to the number of donors.

“We are proud that our grass-roots support in the American Muslim community has allowed CAIR to grow from having eight chapters and offices in 2001 to having 33 today,” Mr. Ahmed said.

“Eight chapters with 29,000 members down to 33 chapters with 1700. Yeah, lots to be happy about there bud.”

    Are the 2 dozen donors that CAIR relies upon corporate entities and where can one find out? I bet a boycott of their products by good Christian Americans could get them to change their minds on where they spend their money!

    I doubt that a drop in membership will be of to much concern to the CAIR leadership. They can still do their damage such as suits against organizations and individuals they feel "detrimental" to the Muslim cause. Perhaps the loss of membership may also reflect the concern that Muslims would have to their name showing up on membership lists.

    What great news! Maybe there is still hope. CAIR is a terrorist-fascist organization. Years past,you had to sign an oath that you are not part of a terrorist organization or want to overthrow the government of the USA. This applied to jobs,schools;etc. Maybe,CAIR members should be the first required to sign this pledge. Next,the Muslim Student Association.
  • That's what happens when people get an education. Now, if we can get the last 1,700 CAIR members to educate themselves, CAIR will disappear completely.

    CAIR is a sick organization. It supports and encourages sex with babies, it supports muslims that have sex with animals and children. Islam is the toilet and CAIR flushes it daily with their sperm spewing propaganda. All muslims are cowards who hide behind the burka's of their women and children.
