Underestimating Islamic Ideology

While it’s good to see Brown and Bush getting along for the sake of our allied relationship, it is just as disheartening to see our leaders blindly and un-knowingly treat Islam and it’s deep rooted ideology as some peaceful religion with no purpose for Jihad. The utter denial of the coming war we will have to face is foolish and cowardly. It’s almost like the West is too civilized.

When are we going to return to our instincts of self defense? The threat is real and it’s only a matter of time before another 9/11 times 100 happens in America or the UK. The threat of Islamic terrorism and Islamic totalitarian regimes is brewing and getting closer and closer to the boiling point. This problem will NEVER be resolved until we recognize that this problem resides in the deep roots of Islamic ideology which can only be reformed by Muslims themselves. Unfortunately the “moderates” seemed more concerned with calling everyone Islamophobes, rather than actually addressing the real concerns that the Western World has with Islamic ideology.

The underlining issue is not these distinct crimes or a small amount of people who “pervert” the “true Islam”. The real issue is the actual ideology of the true doctrine of Islam and what the Koran and the Hadiths teach. The desire for the Islamic world to re-establish the Caliphate is real.

My friend, Robert Spencer puts it best…..

…both Brown and Bush are in total denial about the deep roots of jihad and Islamic supremacism within Islamic theology and tradition. Can we really fight the war of ideas effectively while ignoring and denying the true nature of the conflict itself?

And then when you see what Brown is actually recommending, it just involves a further retreat from the ideological challenge the jihadists present. Instead of confronting that challenge and joining the battle, he is recommending that we ignore that jihadism represents a “cause” altogether, and treat it the way it was treated before 9/11, as a series of unrelated, distinct “crimes” that had no underlying unifying purpose or goal.

Imagine if the Allies had tried to fight World War II that way: instead of treating Nazism as an ideology and combatting it, imagine if they treated each German offensive in Europe as a separate “crime,” not as part of any larger purpose, and offered outreach programs to Germans in the face of each “crime.” How far might Hitler have gotten?
