TweetWith so much good news coming out of Iraq the last couple weeks, I can’t help but smile when I see stories of success in Anbar. It was only a few months ago that we were questioning our own strategy on what to do and which way to go in Iraq.
The surge is working on an almost universal scale at this point. President Bush made a clear message flying directly into Al Anbar, giving a speech under the lights, outside at night, and the ovation he got from the troops was amazing to watch. There are stories popping up all over the place about how troops are spending more time rebuilding towns these days and less time fighting insurgents.
Many are seething at the thought of victory in Iraq including most Democrats, leftists, and Koskids.
There is clearly, though, a message going out to the entire world and that is:
A secure Iraq is entirely possible and now it’s actually happening.
What people thought would never happen is now the forefront of many front pages in the media. Just to name a few…
- Dramatic turnarounds in hotspots outside Al Anbar
- Combat death’s decline in Iraq
- SWJ – Good news roundup from Iraq
- Making a difference in Fallujah
- Iraq political scene turning around
- Patreus: Surge working
- Oh, the tide is turning!
- Secret peace deal in the works between Sunni’s and Shia
Michelle Malkin also asks an interesting questions to the nay sayers:
Which path will we take? Fight or Surrender. With a candid pic from one of her readers…

Across the country, ordinary Americans–I’m talking about grass-roots activists without George Soros funding–are gearing up to bring the fight over the war to Washington. Summer’s over. Next week will bring a historic clash of activists. Melanie Morgan and Move America Forward are on their way, leading a cross-country caravan. Check out the driving route to see if they’ll be stopping by a town near year on their journey to answer the ANSWER mob. Catherine Moy reports that Democrat Party organs ain’t happy. Eagles are preparing. Vets for Freedom are mobilizing.
Ah..what a breath of fresh air, the smell of VICTORY is in the air.
