Following the passing of the motion authorizing cross border military operation in the parliament, PM Erdogan was asked by reporters to evaluate President Bush’s comments that said, “sending military into
Iraq is not inTurkey ’s interests”, just moments before the vote was taken.
PM Erdogan responded by saying that he did not know who said what and added, “We, the Turkish parliamentarians, just took a decision with a crushing majority. It is not who says what, but what the Turkish parliament says that is important. And the Turkish parliament has spoken. Let this decision be blessed for our country, for our nation and for all those who see the fight against terrorism as an international commitment”.
