A gang rape victim in Saudi Arabia will receive 200 lashes for not controlling the desires of filthy men. Shame on her for not covering up, make it 250.

A court in the ultra-conservative kingdom of Saudi Arabia is punishing a female victim of gang rape with 200 lashes and six months in jail, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

The 19-year-old woman — whose six armed attackers have been sentenced to jail terms — was initially ordered to undergo 90 lashes for “being in the car of an unrelated male at the time of the rape,” the Arab News reported.

But in a new verdict issued after Saudi Arabia’s Higher Judicial Council ordered a retrial, the court in the eastern town of Al-Qatif more than doubled the number of lashes to 200.

A court source told the English-language Arab News that the judges had decided to punish the woman further for “her attempt to aggravate and influence the judiciary through the media.”

Saudi Arabia enforces a strict Islamic doctrine known as Wahhabism and forbids unrelated men and women from associating with each other, bans women from driving and forces them to cover head-to-toe in public.

Last year, the court sentenced six Saudi men to between one and five years in jail for the rape as well as ordering lashes for the victim, a member of the minority Shiite community.

    This is a very sad, but true report on the severity of Sharia Law.  I pray this young lady will survie her punishment–if she should die, it won’t be the lashes that kill her–for they won’t be given all at once, but over a course of several weeks.  If the beatings are severe enough to break the skin, she could suffer infection, which will ultimately lead to complications.

    When this sort of stone age bassackward stuff happens in these countries I am thankful I do not live there nor intend to visit there in my lifetime. What a great way to promote tourism for that country – well possibly the male visitors will be delighted and flock there. But as a woman, I have no interest in stepping foot in a place where women have no rights and groups of angry men who want to make sure they make life very very very difficult for women – they think no matter what the woman does, the woman is always wrong. No point going to those countries, especially when it’s law that women are nothing. What would their world be like if their country was devoid of women to abuse? Curiosity, why do they bother to have rape laws, especially when the woman will have the remote chance of justice?

    If it wasn’t for the Marxist Muslim we have in the White House right now, we could be well on our way to drilling for enough oil to make us independent of the need for anyone else’s oil. We’ve discovered enough oil within our own borders to last 600 years, at least. Yes, the Saudi’s oil won’t last forever, and our buying their oil won’t either, then what will they do for money?
