Fred Thompson awakens from the dead

But is it too late?

Hell no!

I just watched the late night replay of the debate and I have to say, I saw the Fred Thompson I have been waiting to see for 4 months. He was lively, energetic, passionate, articulate and on the offensive. One thing I noticed was that he had a lot of notes he was working with and you could tell he came into this debate much more prepared than previous ones where he seemed to “just get by” and not show much grit in the process.

Has Fred finally “found his voice?” I guess that remains to be seen. But I know for all the Fred heads out there who have been waiting for his moment of breakout, tonight could have been it. With what seemed to be good preparation from Fred, he came out very articulate and quick witted, something we have been longing to see from him for quite some time now. If Fred does well in South Carolina, continues his display of passion and conviction in these debates and realizes that preparation can be a powerful tool in these debates, he will be a viable candidate.

Go Fred, keep up the good work.

Here’s some highlights:

Slams Huckabee:

On Iranian aggression:

On Immigration and border security:

And Frank Luntz’s focus group reaction…Fred WINS BIG

  • Robert B.
He wasn't dead, just running a relaxed campaign. THIS is the Fred Thompson I want to see more of. Polite, but firm, standing up and speaking for our country's interests.

Once again, he gives me justification to support his rtun for POTUS.
  • That comment about the virgins was funny. And I count his previous "I don't do hand-shows" right up there with Lt. Gen. Russel Honore's "You are stuck on stupid" in the aftermath of Katrina as one of the great MSM slapdowns of all time.

On a more serious note, from what I saw (I'm in Oz, so I only see highlights of the debates) he was really on top of his game in this debate. As far as whether he has been "asleep" thus far, I agree with Robert B. - he's been running a relaxed campaign.

I appreciate the way he hasn't seemed as desperate and grasping in the way he's campaigned as other candidates seem. Now that it's coming down to the wire, however, it's time for him to take things up a gear to really get the word out as to what he's on about.

(BTW, I really like your website here - it's one of my first stops every morning. Keep up the good work, mate.)
