I agree with Storm Rider and Rudy. How in the world do you expect anyone to believe that the Islamic terrorists don't target civilians?!!! Please, tell me you were grasping at straws. And your argument that the USA ruined Iran's chance at democracy is pitifully, and deceptively lame . Why should it matter if it were true? . . . .And? You are hiding your head in the sand, and I believe you are letting your bitter emotions interfere with your objective powers of reasoning. Pure logic would tell you that there are multiple reasons Iran is where it is today.

As far as terrorists succeeding "even if they do not kill Civilians", you are right, but I prefer they succeed in causing terror without causing the death of civilians, rather than burying my head in the sand, and letting them SUCCEED in terror that causes the deaths of civilians. If this takes heightened security in public areas, then woo hoo!! I'm all for it. I read your full comment on the subject of collateral damage. Terrorists DO target civilians. Who the **** do you think was in the World Trade Center’s North and South Towers??? Those were CIVILIANS. THEY WERE INNOCENT, going about their lives until terrorists TARGETED CIVILIANS and killed them. Or perhaps the 3/11 Madrid Train Station, terrorists once again TARGETED CIVILIANS. And again on 7/7 in the London Subway, terrorists TARGETED CIVILIANS. Or the shoebomber Richard Reid? Correct me if I am wrong, but that airliner was full of CIVILIANS he TARGETed.

By your definition then, those 9 foreigners in Pakistan are collateral damage. You truly have illustrated either your blatant ignorance, or your unwillingness to see the truth.

And about Iran, the CIA taking out one government head is NOT the cause of terrorism, islam is. Islamic doctrine calls for forced conversion, subjugation or killing of all infidels. PERIOD. Ever wonder what the REAL reason for the crusades was? It was response to the muslims invading and taking over Spain and Portugal, and penetrating into France, which is why many words in Spanish and Portuguese (I speak both fluently) are of Arabic origin. Not to mention them overrunning Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morrocco, Western Sahara and Mauritania. But of course that was in retaliation for American foreign policy, according to you leftist kooks.

The Islamo-fascists did start it, just like the Nazi's started it in the twentieth century. They started it, and we'll finish it with their total defeat. There is no moral equivalence between those who murder and engage in wars of aggression and terror, and those who defend their lives and their liberty. That may be too simple an idea for your great intellect, but the question is not how smart you are - what your IQ is; but rather what is your moral quotient. Like other intelligent fools, your moral quotient is low - you can't tell right from wrong.

As for your mind-numbing analysis of the shoe-bombing terrorist, we are simply in a new kind of war; and we must adjust our defense against this new asymmetrical threat in whatever way is most likely to work best for us - our safety and our liberty. I am glad that we can explain away the deaths of people so easily. "These people were in the same building as this terrorist, so they must be terrorists as well" You are correct, it just said foreigners. For all i know, it was a meeting of "How to kill America Weekly" or some other such crap.

But i am disgusted that you, Storm-Rider, try to push away my objections with the whole, "He Started it!" crap. Yes, they killed us. They killed Friends, Relatives, and Countrymen. I just fail to see how killing their Friends, Relatives, and Countrymen, in as bad or worse ways than what they use, is us being the better people.

And i'm sorry, but you are wrong. Terrorists do not target Civilians. Civilians are simply collateral damage. Terrorists are out to cause terror, and they succeed even if they do not kill Civilians. Let me give you an example.

You may remember the scare a few years back in Britan, where a guy tried to sneak explosives onto a plane in his Shoes. guess what? they caught him! he failed! yay!.... right?

Who said anything about "innocents"? All it mentioned were 9 foreigners. As evidenced in Iraq, terrorists love to travel to other countries to wage jihad, and considering the "innocents" support the terrorists, hide them in their villages, alert them when our patrols are around (happened frequently in Afghanistan, and Iraq), and attend rallies and chant "DEATH TO AMERICA", I have to say JIMMY CRACK CORN AND I DONT CARE. I have no doubt that many of the adults you refer to as "innocents" are, in fact, collaborators. This is asymmetrical warfare, and they don't wear uniforms; but they do have sinister associations with others who wear civilian clothes.

As for the truly innocent, yes, I agree that the price of liberty is high, and the protection of the innocent in war must be given very high priority. You can bet your bottom dollar that our enemies do not make such calculations to protect the innocent in war - they hate and target the innocent; and that is why they must be defeated – must be defeated.

Yes, and hopefully the nine innocents aren't forgotten. Because, although you cannot put a price on freedom, you can apparently put a price on an innocent's life.

What i am trying to say is this: is it worth it? how many innocents have to die at our hands before we realize that it is no longer worth the death of one "Terrorist"?
