Dick Cheney: America in Iraq to win

by Kal El on March 19, 2008 · Comments

Despite calls for retreat and surrender by the Democrats (Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton, among other cowards in Congress), Dick Cheney made a surprise visit to Iraq this week, and spent the night at Balad Air Base, north of Baghdad. He focused mainly on expressing that the United States WILL complete our mission in Iraq, and not allow it to become a terrorist breeding ground.

Quoting Cheney himself -

All Americans can be certain that we intend to complete the mission so that another generation of Americans does not have to come back here and do it again.

Proof positive that there are still those in Washington who have not been stripped of their masculinity and willingness to fight for freedom.

Zhann, the fact that you have to ask such questions at this point in history quite simply proves that no answer will help you or the cowards in Congress who want to run away and let the terrorist TRULY have a base in which to rebuild and strike harder. It also lets us know that trying to logically explain to some is pointless. Given the immense threat we face, and our children face, we have been FAR FAR too gentle for me personally. If it were up to me Iraq would have only been second, more would have followed. Because the terrorists in Iraq right now are not from Iraq. They are pouring in, along with more weapons, from other Islamic countries. Therefore, Iraq IS the front. Iraq IS where the war is happening. There is only one question for you. Would you want our best countrymen fighting the terrorists in Iraq or fighting them in the town where you live? Very simple.
  • It is obvious that the vast majority of those visiting/reading this site are supporters of the war. However, the post is a bit misleading, specifically the statement "the United States WILL complete our mission in Iraq, and not allow it to become a terrorist breeding ground". The fact is, the USA has in fact done the exact opposite, it has created a breeding ground for terrorists. It has committed more war crimes than Slobodan Milosevic, and no one is being held accountable for them. Before the USA invaded Iraq, there was nothing like what is going on now. One can make claims that over the past 5 years progress has been made, but the progress is so minute that it seems we take two steps forward and 3 steps back. Asside from not being "stripped of their masculinity and willingness to fight for freedom", what is the purpose of this war? What has been accomplished? What do people expect as a conclusion?

    Correction: to fight for it.

Yea, and our founding fathers had courage too - enough courage to fight for their life and their liberty - and now it's our liberty if we will have the same courage to fight it.
  • NO ONE can say Dick has no balls. The guy is rock solid.
