ACLU: mealtimes violate muslim inmates religious rights

The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Thursday claiming that a Wyoming State Penitentiary policy restricting prisoners’ mealtimes violates the constitutional rights of two Muslim inmates.

The ACLU filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court on behalf of Joseph Miller and Hurie Purdiman Jr., two inmates serving time at the penitentiary in Rawlins.

At issue is an alleged “20-minute rule” requiring inmates to eat their meals within 20 minutes after the food is delivered to a cell or common dining area, the lawsuit said. The lawsuit seeks for the inmates to be exempted from the rule because it forces them to choose between eating and practicing their religion.

    Rudy, isn’t the ACLU the same crowd that defend NAMBLA, the paedophile crowd that want to lower the age of consent to 12?
    Ironic that they are now defending two members of a religion founded by a paedophile.
    I wonder if the two tango’s are members of NAMBLA as well?

    LOL!!! Nice, I hadn’t thought of that, but it would not surprise me. The ACLU needs to change its name to the Anti-Civilized Liberties Undoing, since they care more about the rights of terrorists, criminals and the like, than they do about the victims. Why are those pukes in jail? Did they commit a crime? Then let them suffer for it. They are going to hell anyway, so who cares if they are offended because they cannot pray to Lucifer 5 times a day.
