I have been to muslim countries and have known many Iranian people at my college, when many were sent there by their parents when the Shah was overthrown by Kumeni. America is naive about this culture. It really is something bad, scary, with a complete disregard for the rights of women. It is the creapiest feeling to have an Islamic man look right past you as if you did not exist when you speak to him, because in his mind you are nonexistant, a female. It is totally disgusting to have anoymous muslim men grope your private parts on a street, even when wearing very discreet clothing and doing nothing more than minding your own business. If there is even a hint that someone running for president could be muslim or sympathetic to them, it is a serious mistake to vote for that person. It is a frightening scenario. I don’t know if I am overreacting, but is this a slippery slope? Are Americans too passive and ignorant to realize that maybe this could be a little step into us submitting to being overthrown by this culture. Maybe it wouldn’t happen right away, but it could happen to our children or their children. I don’t want this for my child.
