Full disclosure: I dislike this twit for many reasons.
I am not convinced that he did this on purpose but his supporters seem to be and obviously approve.
Speaking of his supporters, if I were running for office and the absolute worst people in the world were throwing their support behind me I would go out of my way to let it be known that they would not get the support from me which they seemed to assume. Given that every Marxist, Maoist, Islamist, fascist, terrorist and anti-Israeli/Anti-American group in existence is worshiping the Obamessiah, it might be worth a few minutes of his time to throw out some criticisms of these groups. Unless of course, he is proud of their support in which case he should man up and admit to that.
