But they’re still scared to death about taking military action because it would affect their economy too much. They want even MORE sanctions.

USA Today – Major EU leaders agree with Bush on blocking Iran nukes

Major Europeans leaders — especially Britain, Germany and France — agree with President Bush that Iran shouldn’t get nuclear weapons, but the prospect of tougher action comes, however, with a dose of skepticism, some analysts warn.

On Tuesday, the 27-nation European Union agreed with Bush at a U.S.-EU summit here to impose tougher financial sanctions against Iran if it doesn’t suspend development of its nuclear program.

“European governments want tough sanctions,” says Barrett, director of International Media Intelligence Analysis. “At the same time, though, you have European industry and business that fear losing out.”
