"Moderate Muslims" blast Miss Headscarf 2008

A beauty contest for women with headscarfs seems like an oxymoron… the whole reason they wear the hijab is because they are trying to be modest.

Why are women, who supposedly are trying modest, even participating in a contest like this? Doesn’t it go against the very reason they wear it in the first place? to NOT bring attention to your looks?

Sounds like these women are very confused. We could eliminate this controversy all together if they just removed the dam hijab once and for all.
