Archbishop of Canterbury: 'Christian doctrine is offensive to muslims'

Do you like this story?

That quack Dr Rowan Williams is at it again. Capitulate, capitulate, capitulate.

Christian doctrine is offensive to Muslims, the Archbishop of Canterbury said yesterday.

Dr Rowan Williams also criticised Christianity’s history for its violence, its use of harsh punishments and its betrayal of its peaceful principles.

His comments came in a highly conciliatory letter to Islamic leaders calling for an alliance between the two faiths for ‘the common good’.

But it risked fresh controversy for the Archbishop in the wake of his pronouncement earlier this year that a place should be found for Islamic sharia law in the British legal system.

Dr Williams is also facing immense pressures from inside his own Church of England and Anglican Communion.

A gathering of Anglican bishops from around the world, which begins today, is on the brink of a devastating split over whether homosexuality and gay clergy should win their approval.

The Archbishop’s letter is a reply to feelers to Christians put out by Islamic leaders from 43 countries last autumn.

In it, Dr Williams said violence is incompatible with the beliefs of either faith and that, once that principle is accepted, both can work together against poverty and prejudice and to help the environment.

He also said the Christian belief in the Trinity – that God is Father, Son and Holy Ghost at the same time – ‘is difficult, sometimes offensive, to Muslims’.

Trinitarian doctrine conflicts with the Islamic view that there is just one all-powerful God.

Awww poor muslims are offended by doctrine that predates islam. Just one problem there, professor. Jesus never once called for slaying non Christians. Muhammad did, and he participated in the slaughter. Jesus preached peace and lived it. Muhammad preached jihad and … well you get the idea.

Christians have done (and still do) horrible things, despite that Jesus did not.
Muslims have done (and still do) horrible things, just like their “prophet” Muhammad.
Christians are violent, Christianity is not, evidenced by Jesus’ message “Love thy neighbor”, his message of forgiveness (“Come as you are, to the Father”), his acts of compassion towards Mary Magdalene, and the ultimate sacrifice – his very life.
Muslims are violent, so is islam, evidenced by Muhammad’s message “I am made victorious through terror”, his raids on numerous caravans, his molesting of a 9 year old girl he married when she was 6, and his extermination of the ENTIRE Qurayza tribe of Jews at Medina.
You tell me which doctrine is trully offensive…

Muslims may take offense to Jesus Christ, incarnate God, and His Christian followers; but they must not be allowed to rescind our inalienable God-given rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

This so-called Christian leader publically failed to defend the Divinity of Christ when given the opportunity. This Archbishop also appears sympathetic to the enemies of our sacred human rights because violence in self-defense and in defense of sacred human liberty is courageous and just, whereas violence as a tool against innocent human life and liberty is evil.

Extreme Christians blow up abortion clinics and swear that Katrina was Gods revenge on a “sinful city” just to name 2. They are punished by law and I’m sure there will be something waiting for them in the after-life.  Any so-called right idea that is taken to the extreme quickly becomes a wrong one.
Good Christians practice their religion, they do not turn their backs on those in need, do not pass judgment and live by the golden rule and thats where I think the whole damn planet should look and say, “hey, WOW, thats a helluva idea, why don’t we act like that!?!?”

Christian doctrine is offensive to Muslims, huh? Stands to reason. After all, light is offensive to cockroaches.

Christian love has always been offensive to Islam and always will be. Islam thrives on hatred. Let me quote a few passages from the Muslim War Manual, the filthy Qur’an:

“Infidels are your sworn enemies,” (Sura 4 Verse 101).

“Make war on the infidels around you,” (Sura 9 Verse 123 and Sura 66 Verse 9).

“Be ruthless to the infidels,” (Sura 48 Verse 29).

“Fight those who believe not Allah nor the Last Day,” (Sura 9 Verse 29). We Christians really offend Muslims here because we don’t believe in Satan/Allah.

“Take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends,” (Sura 5 Verse 61, Sura 60 Verse 13).  And how do we offend Islam here?  We Christians exist.
