Houston residents upset over distribution of qurans

My hometown makes it’s opinion known, loud and clear, regarding the book of Muhammad.

HOUSTON — The distribution of Qurans in a southwest Houston neighborhood has some residents worried about the motives of the group who dispersed the Islamic book.

An English translation of the Quran began appearing two weeks ago on the doorsteps of hundred of homes in the BraesTimbers neighborhood. The books came in plastic bags with a note attached from the ‘Book of Signs Foundation’ asking recipients to accept the Quran as a gift from the Muslim community.

But some residents, like Greg and Sue Ann Pieri, said they feared the group is imposing its beliefs on non-Muslims and found the gesture offensive.

“If we went into a Muslim country and left a bible, we would be in prison and then decapitated a few years later,” said Sue Ann Pieri, who chose not to destroy the book like other neighbors did.

However, Houston’s Council on American-Islamic Relations President Tarick Hussein said although his organization did not partake in distributing the books, he believes that the Muslims behind the distribution only wanted to educate non-Muslims about the religion.

The Book of Signs Foundation claims to have distributed 30,000 Qurans in Houston, targeting neighborhoods believed to be most receptive of the Quran or in need of a better understanding of Islam.

We have a perfect understanding of islam. 9/11, 3/11, 7/7, and the over 11000 terror attacks committed by muslims screaming “allahu akbar” as they detonated their explosives have helped. That is why people are pissed off about the quran being left on doorsteps. Sue Ann Pieri was DEAD ON ACCURATE when she said she would be jailed for leaving a Bible in Saudi. But dhimwits like a certain commentor here would have us believe islam is peace and tolerance.

    If it was a church group dropping off bibles to the Muslim residents they would have screamed hate crime and demanded someone be charged with something. Freedom of expression goes only one way in islam.

    that is not true. I do bible study with jehovas witness and mormons all the time. so is it ok for them and not muslims. the quran should never be placed on the ground and so this is a bad idea anyways. so are you saying muslims don’t have the same rights as others?

    you are either a liar or an imbecile. try distributing a bible in Saudi. Try having bible study in Teheran. Try it and see islamic tolerance in full effect. No one here has said muslims don’t have the same rights as other except for you, by implying it and twisting Ron’s words. Typical taqiyya.

    Way to go, Sue ann Pieri. You did well by not destroying the book. Now, read it, study it and analize it and…if you don’get goose bumps, you are braver than Rambo. If christians think that allah is just another name for God, look it up in Google.
    As Christians, we are going to have to be really on our toes to face what is the most aggressive attack on Christianity.

    Since it’s already on the ground, it should be relatively easy to kick it all the way to the street where it can lay, right where my dog pisses, until trash pick up day. I have no respect for the arab moon cult at all.

    Too true, muslims should have no rights until they become civilised. Mormons dont strap bombs to themselves and kill innocent women and children, or fly planes into buildings. We would be jailed if we placed bibles by muslim homes. Glad they were left on the floor, the gutter would have been better.
