The religion of peace, balance and fitrah among genders strikes again.

A man who struck his wife with punches, leaving her with a fractured nose - for rolling up her Islamic veil because of the heat - was sentenced to two years in prison on Friday, of which 18 months will be deferred, by the Magistrates’ court.

The prosecutor, Jean Ecuer, had ordered him to serve eight months in prison, which include three with deferment. Ali Nassakh, a 30 year old mason of Algerian nationality, was placed in detention. Presented in immediate appearance for deliberate violence on spouse, which involved an ITT that lasted more than eight days, he was facing up to five years in prison.

He had been interrogated on Friday afternoon after beating his wife in the car park of a big hypermarket close to the beaches of Prado. The couple, who resides in Lille and had married in November 2007, had come to Marseilles on vacation.

A passerby had alerted the police after seeing the young woman’s bloody face. She melted in tears when her husband claimed that she had knocked her head against a car that was parked on the side.

In court, the husband pleaded for his wife’s forgiveness. The latter, aged 24 and of French nationality, explained to the court, where she showed up veiled, that her husband was accusing her of exposing her neck.

“I can’t bare the heat”, she had said “the scarf, I had it; I wasn’t hiding my neck, but I didn’t have a décolleté either”.

The young woman did not claim any compensation, wishing simply to “go back to Lille and think”. To the investigators, she stated having explained to her husband that “in our religion, the husband does not have the right to tell his wife to do what he wants”.

“The true religion of this sir is machismo”, the prosecutor observed. “We live in a completely different culture”, pled the lawyer of defense, Ms. Marie-Laurence Pennicat, wondering however about the future of the couple because “this is not the first time that she has been beaten”.

Not the first time she has been beaten. By her ‘peaceful’ muslim husband??? No!!!!! Lies! Lies, I tell you!! This is just another attempt by the West to tarnish the image of islam! /sarc
