Outrage over Arab leader’s remarks

THE chairman of the Australian Arabic Council (AAC) has been accused of breaching the Racial Discrimination Act with comments he made about the Hezbollah-run television station al-Manar, which continues to be broadcast in Australia.

Roland Jabbour told The AJN last week that he stands by the comments he made to The Age (21/08), that in the context of Israel’s “crimes”, it was acceptable for al-Manar to call Jewish people “the offspring of apes and pigs” and to resurrect the ancient myth of blood libel.

“I said you need to see those comments in the context of the State of Israel and the ongoing conflict in the region. I thought it was reasonable,” Jabbour told The AJN.

He said that while he would never speak about Jewish people like that, “we need to see [the comments] as directed to the State of Israel, not directed to Jews”.

He said that in broadcasting anti-Semitic and anti-Israel views into Australia, the network was exercising its right to free speech.

“By supporting a station to be aired in Australia, we are not supporting the things that it says, we are simply saying that if somebody says something that we are not happy with, then that is the whole issue with freedom of expression,” Jabbour argued.

The broadcaster, he said, was not supporting terrorism, but he concurred that Hezbollah, a proscribed terrorist group in Australia, operated the station.

He doesn’t support terrorism, but he supports a terrorist run tv station.And you know damned well that if anyone were to broadcast that Muhammad was a pedophile on TV muslims would riot, cry racism, sue, and probably kidnap and kill whoever said it. But islam is a tolerant, and peaceful religion. And I have some ocean front property for sale, in Wyoming…

    Fear and intimidation have not been used since 1945. Thanks to Kennedy, Nixon, Carter, Clinton and Bush the Elder, and Dubya, we have resorted to pansy-assed half measures. Japan was the same in 1941as the muslim world is today. To die for the father land, the imperial homeland, the code (bushido, I believe) was the greatest honor. Sounds an awful lot like dying for allah/islam/muhammad/72 virgins, if you ask me. Japan was cowed through intimidation, and fear. Fear of another Fat Man and Little Boy paying a visit. The musselman were defeated at Vienna through intimidation and fear. Just like they were crushed by the Mongol Horde. I guarantee you, if Waziristan, Mecca, and all their "holy" cities were nuked (they want to do it to Israel and the US, I say hit them first, be PROACTIVE), they would be enraged, yes, but what would they do? Their moon-god allah could not stop the great satan's fire? That would likely break their will to jihad...

    OK, you said that Jewish people are “the offspring of apes and pigs”.   Now bear with me while I try to think this through...

    -   Jewish people are “the offspring of apes and pigs”
    -   Jesus/Isu is mentioned in the Koran as a prophet
    -   Jesus/Isu is mentioned in the Koran 25 times
    -   Mohammed is also mentioned in the Koran as a prophet
    -   Mohammed alas, is mentioned in the Koran only 5 times
    -   Who was the better prophet (remember the score was 25 to 5)
    -   Jesus/Isu was a Jew...in fact, he was a Jewish Rabbi
    -   Therefore...by calling Jews “the offspring of apes and pigs” you are not only calling my Savior such, you are calling Islam's most mentioned prophet the “the offspring of apes and pigs”.  

    This just doesn't make any sense to me.  Am I wrong on this line of thinking?  Help me out here, Jabbour, just WTF is going on...?

    And by the way Jabbour, not only are you an idiot, you're a racist and religious bigot.

    And Australia, why oh why do you let a terrorist organization run a radio station in your?  Are you folks nuts down there?
