Remember, when it comes to liberals, free speech is okay, unless you disagree with them. How much do you want to bet had it been an anti-McCain shirt no one would have said anything?

FIFTH GRADER SUSPENDED FOR WEARING ANTI-OBAMA SHIRT

An 11-year-old boy in Colorado was suspended from school after he refused to take off a shirt that read, “Obama is a terrorist’s best friend.” His father says that the school is violating his son’s First Amendment rights.

Daxx Dalton, a fifth grader at Aurora Frontier K-8 School in Aurora, Colo., wore the homemade shirt on a day when students were asked to show their patriotism by wearing red, white and blue, according to MyFOXColorado.com.

When he was given the choice of turning the shirt inside out or being suspended, Dalton chose suspension.

“They’re taking away my right of freedom of speech,” he said. “If I have the right to wear this shirt I’m going to use it. And if the only way to use it is get suspended, then I’m going to get suspended.”

Dann Dalton, the boy’s father — a “proud conservative” who has taken part in anti-abortion protests — told MyFOXColorado.com that the school is making a mistake by suspending his son.

“It’s the public school system,” he said. “Let’s be honest, it’s full of liberal loons.”

The school district would not discuss the case, but said the district “respects a student’s right to free speech, such as the right to wear specific clothing,” but they reserve the right to review any situation that interrupts the learning environment, MyFOXColorado.com reported.

Dalton’s suspension was for willful disobedience and defiance, not for wearing the shirt. His father said he intends to sue the district.

Loons! I could not have said it better myself! This guy ought to run for Mayor of Aurora and clean house of all the libtards ruining the schools there.

I like this kid and his Dad…they are definitely putting their testicular fortitude on the table.  It is his right as an American citizen to wear what he wants and I agree Kal, if it had been anti-McCain- not a word!
I hope they hang with it and fight it to the end, is there anyway to contact them or get a support thing going? That’s what the libs do right, support groups haha! It’s high time for a conservative support group but we’d probably be labeled as, dare I say it, RACISTS!!

“Interrupts the learning environment” sounds like it could mean -anything-. And, since “learning environment” is pretty obviously what schools should be about it could be hard to argue against.  Not a good rule. -bk

interrupts the learning environment- totally vague statement and definitely dreamed up by Liberals. The same group of people that don’t want the schools disciplining their children and wonders why they don’t respect authority.  Back in the day, I got sent home from school, my Dad drove me back and told them to do their jobs, educate me or whip me but don’t send me home!  I can’t wait to say that to my kids teachers haha!

I have to wonder if the kid had a shirt with a McCain picture on it with some negative comment on it, if the kid would have been suspended at all.

when youre in school, your “rights” are not considered.  you have no “rights” when you walk in the door.  it interrupts the ”learning environment.”  i dont agree with the shirt by any means, but im still proud of the kid for sticking up for what he believes in.

Really so hard when it comes to politics, if you are in a democratic country, you have the right and freedom to choose what ever you want.
