BBC Reports that Taliban leader Mullah Omar has been killed

Do you like this story?

For those of you who don’t realize the significance of this news story, Mullah Omar is the highest ranking Taliban leader is and just about as big of a fish as Osama Bin Laden himself.

Amazing news. Amazing…A HUGE victory in the war on Islamic Terror. HUGE…

I want to hear more confirmation before I get too excited.

From BBC: they don’t see the obvious significance in their intial report.

A suspected US missile strike has killed 20 people, including a top Taleban commander, in north-west Pakistan, witnesses and officials say.

Mohammad Omar was among the dead when the missile, reportedly fired by a pilotless US drone, hit a compound owned by him in South Waziristan.

Omar fought with the Taliban in Afghanistan in the late 1990s.

The US has launched many missile strikes from Afghanistan against suspected militant targets recently.

There are conflicting reports going around and the mainstream media hasn’t picked up on this just yet.  Hotair is also saying that it was the wrong Mullah Omar…

This is apparently not the Mohammed Omar, known better as Mullah Omar, the leader of the Afghan Taliban in exile.  However, the strike did kill several Taliban operatives as they gathered for a meeting in South Waziristan.  Among the dead were emissaries of Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud and Afghan Taliban commander Jalaluddin Haqqani, and the house was located in a stronghold of Mehsud’s.

And this from Long War Journal

A senior Taliban commander has been reported to have been killed in Sunday’s airstrike in South Waziristan.

Haji Omar Khan, a senior Taliban leader in South Waziristan who strong ties to Mullah Omar, is said to have been killed in the strike that is believed to have killed an estimated 16 to 20 people, including “foreigners.” Omar’s death has not been confirmed, and the Taliban have yet to release any statement acknowledging his death.

This is good news and will put a dent in their operations for a couple of weeks.  Some believe that if we kill enough Islamic Fundamentalist leaders the problem will go away. It won’t. There is no head on this snake. As long as there is belief in the literal Qur’an and Ahadith there will be Taliban, Terrorists, Thieves, Thugs, and Theocrats.  The declaration that Islam is a religion of peace is the biggest lie of the new millenium.

    • Hmiskenyar-Zabiullah

piglet-u93 , oh Pagan ( Kafeer) , you should avoid such pointless words to post publicly. respect humanity, its your churches who finance those big projects against islam , end of the day your nation will suffer – Zabiullah Issa

      • JEWHAWK

        …”respect humanity”

The same way your damned ilk respected Daniel Pearl’s?
Muslims don’t grasp the true meaning of the word “humanity”, so you’d better keep your slimy little fingers off your keyboard, an “infidel” invention, by the way.

      • Kal El

Funny, so far all I see is muslims suffering, in muslim nations, at the hands of muslims. It’s something you lot are experts at, exporting misery.

I love reading these stories! Every time there is a report of a dead terrorist that Queen song, “Another One Bites the Dust” starts playing in my head….HEY, Im gonna get you too, another one bites the dust!! DumDumDum, dadadadadumdidum

I like hearing of these reports.

“All Taliban are moderate. There are two things: extremism ["ifraat", or doing something to excess] and conservatism ["tafreet", or doing something insufficiently]. So in that sense, we are all moderates – taking the middle path.” ~ Mohammad Omar

    Innnnnnnnteresting. Very interesting.

  • Jeff

Happiness is a warm gun and a dead terrorist.

  • Tonto (USA)

Hmmm, sounds like someone in the US gubmint is growing some gonads.  It’s about time and in the right place.  Pakistan can’t handle their western provinces and Syria is in bed with the terrorists.  Personally I’m glad to hear that the US military has been given the go-ahead to take out the muz any place thay can find them…..and I’m not real concerned with “collateral damage” cause the collaterals are probably in cahoots with the bad guys anyway.   AIRBORNE!!!!!

  • simon

… yeah tonto… just a tv report on that raid… one of the survivors, a woman in hospital who had been – shot didn’t look very dangerous… she looked just like someone’s mother to me.

So if you don’t care about killing inoccent people… you are absolutely no better than the people you hate.

    • TheDoctorWhoCuresCancer

Yeah, the mother of six terrorists.

      • JEWHAWK

Muslim women are born to be walking factories of suicide-bombers, airliner-hijackers, saboteurs, shoe-bombers, underware-bombers, vicious throat- cutters, rapists, pedophiles, mysoginists, taqyiah-tellers, polygamysts and the poster boys for worldwide backwardness.

  • Tonto (USA)

Actually, just pragmatic.  And you can’t tell a book by looking at the cover.  That woman was actually an expert bomb assembler, and had been for several years.  That bullshit sounds pretty good too doesn’t it.  And probably more accurate than the bullshit you just put out there.

  • simon

well at least it does make a change from bombing wedding parties.

  • simon

… oh one other thing… the French never believed that Saddam had weapons either… they were right
     ”freedom fries” eh?

  • CM

“Freedom fries.” Ugly times, ugly times.

Yeah, not caring about non-militant casualties is a pretty sad thing to hear about.

  • simon

…. it’s the same mind set as the september 11 bombers had… that’s really my point, not caring about killing civillians makes you no different from them

  • Tonto (USA)

Simon, 9/11 was a bit different don’t you think?  Civilian innocents were the TARGET, not collateral damage.  In the case of a targeted terrorist, no one in the world has gone to more pains, with more care to AVOID collateral damage to innocents than the US.  Also, this was a “long sought” target.  Anyone around him KNEW that this bad guy could go up in a blinding flash at any time.  They associated with this dude because they supported him, so there were no innocents.  You’ve never been in war, obviously, in boots on the ground, so you have no idea whatsoever about what these guys do.  The only people around them are supporters….get that through your head.  Guilt by association!  By the way, if the woman in the hospital was shot, as you say, the pakistanis shot her…we shot a missle at the bad guy, not bullets.

  • simon

No it was not a rocket, according to eye witnesses, four helicopters were used, two landed. Eight soldiers went into a ground attack. Several people were killed.(with bullets)
just watching the news, the syrian goverment is saying everyone killed in the raid was a civillian. They are now talking about defending their sovreign country with force.

Just for one minute tonto… what if there was no target there… what if they got it wrong?…. You may find it incredible that the US intelligence can be wrong… but believe me it can.

If they were wrong… if there was no terrorist mastermind there, then they have just flown into someone elses country and shot eight people dead.

of course if they got it right then I would assume the American Government would offer some proof of the death of a terrorist.

They were very keen to show the bodies of Saddams sons… so lets see the evidence… lets see the body of this bad guy.

Strangely at the moment however the defence department is making absolutely no comment at the. How strange. You think they would be shouting about it.

So now wev’e invaded Iraq, invaded Afganistan, bombed Pakistan, sent troops to kill people in Syria.

nothing like winning hearts and minds eh?

    • TheDoctorWhoCuresCancer

Just curious … who you rooting for?

Do you look for that level of perfection when the terrorists blow up a market? Otherwise you critique them firmly, right?

  • simon

By the way I am talking about the attack that happened in Syria tonight… not about Mullah omah.

Sorry if there is any confusion on that

  • simon

… oops i’m on the wrong thread!

  • Tonto (USA)

Actually, the same goes.  If the woman was shot (and by the way, were is the proof that it was a US bullet?) by our guys, she was there, in cahoots, with a real bad guy.  Green beanies are not fuck ups like CIA wizzos.  Embedded reporters with some of those action teams say they get real “up close and personal” and do “mano a mano” tussling.  No doubt, if this was a total GB fight, the recon was dead on and was no “mistake”.
We still need to kick Jordan’s, Saudi’s, Yemen’s, Chechnya’s, Lebanon’s, in fact anyone’s ass that has sent “fighters” to go against our troops and people in Iraq.  I really don’t care if you like it or not.  My feeling is to give them back whatever they want to give to us.  I would use atomic weapons, poison gas, anthrax, missiles, lumpy farts, whatever it takes to make these idiots stop killing people.   11,127 jihadi attacks, worldwide since 9/11, and no matter how many of their own they kill, or how many we kill, or how many honor killings there are (2per day in Pakistan), liberal pukes like you will blame the US for them all and/or call people like me a war monger.  So I don’t care….so get over it.  My feeling is that we have not been as effective as we should be in killing enough of them…..yet.  Hopefully we’ll get our act together and act a bit more earnestly and learn to slaughter terrorists more effusively.  Peace and love, bro.  Let me find my beads……..

    • Dembow_000

Tonto means “dumb” in spanish, look it up….LOL,  by the way the “war on terror” is tonto too.

      • Beejj

Pray you never come face to face with Tonto after writing such bullshit.. Not only is he a multiple-tour Viet vet, but the blood of Mangas Coloradas flows through his veins. I’d call him Sir if I were you.

        • Matthew Salazar

Reading your posts, I think you call him ‘daddy’ while he slathers you in baby oil. Plus, don’t people generally brag about being in wars they generally won? What does being a Vietnam vet mean you can do? Have flashbacks, go crazy and piss yourself?

          • Anonymous

F*ck off to the la raza sites you whiney, wimpy, limp-wristed anchor baby.

You’re nothing. Never done anything in your life. Not a citizen. All you have has come at the expense of the tax payers.

You’ll be one of the first with a bullet in its head when the crap hits the fan.

          • Kal El

Now now, while I disagree with Matthew on his comment, there is no need to call him names or insult his heritage. Also, the line about the bullet could be misconstrued as a threat. We do not want to sink to the level that those on the left always manage to find.

          • Kal El

Vietnam was a war that was lost thanks to the same kind of politicians who did everything to try and lose the war in Iraq. Remember Harry Reid in 2007? He said the war was lost. Remember Obama saying the surge would fail? Same mentality that cost us Vietnam. Bunch of liberal pussies that hate America and love communism rebranded as socialism. I do not hate people who are not like me, nor does the head Infidel here on this site. I hate evil, those that support it, and have disdain towards those that use moral relativity to try and paint evil as simply being different.

      • Tonto

Dembow means “He who takes dick in the face” in my language… I guess we’re even.

      • Kal El

Why did you even post here? You say nothing of any import or use. Go bury your head in your ass, and stay out of the way while the real men take care of business.

  • Tonto (USA)

I also wonder if there was an attack by American forces at all.  It would NOT be beyond the realm of possibility, and well within the mindset of jihadis, if they thought it would be worth killing a bunch of their own, to blame a “staged” event on the US forces to set up a confrontation between Syria and the US.  Killing their own has NEVER been a problem for musleem fanatics, they do that every day just for practice… PROVE the US was even there!!!

  • CM

I don’t think Simon is mourning the loss of jihadis…just civilians.

Simon’s “liberal puke” concerns are the concerns of the rest of the international community, as well.

    • TheDoctorWhoCuresCancer

By the international community you are of course referring to those who are sitting back and offering their criticisms from afar….them and the other terrorist sympathizing nations.

CM, I agree that civilians getting hurt in the handling of terrorists is sad.  I felt bad about the VC pushing civilians in front of their attacks.  The Koreans (Tiger Division) handled it differently than we did……they just shot all of them.  We suffered casualties just trying to kill dinks without killing civilians.  Same thing here.  You can do all you can to protect and preserve innocent lives, even to the point of hurting your own, but it doesn’t matter cause some libtard puke, who never lifted a hand for anybody but themselves, will bitch and piss and moan.  I just get tired of listening to the same old crap from such worms.  The fact is, we are engaged with an enemy that has no morals whatsoever and they get waaaay too much support from libpukes.  When do you see mention of the 12,130 jihadi attacks on mostly civilian innocents from a liberal?  Libs won’t talk about it….it’s too “distasteful”.  Or it might be “offensive to islam”.  Or it is called “islamiphobic” by some terrorist sympathizer. They want to be nice, I want to see all of them dead or converted (mostly to fertilizer), because I take deep exception to being killed in the name of the muz moon-god, or hearing how the muz persecute and kill people all over the world in the name of islam.  The islamic jihadis are vermin that should be exterminated like cockroaches.

  • Joan

And good riddance to bad rubbish. Mullah Omah had it coming,

Not  like the innocent victims of the Towers and the London underground, despite  what the Liberal communist sympathisers tell us.

  • jennyjen

Tonto, great posts. I have to agree if you chill with a guy like Omah you’re not exactly innocent and collateral damage happens. We can try like hell to stop it but as long as our enemies use civilians as shields we will have c.d. and liberals will whine.
Simon, I see where you are coming from and in a perfect world no innocent lives would be lost but this isn’t a perfect world as Im sure you’re aware. This world is plagued by terrorists, extremists and liberals OH MY!
