"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed - unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. “ James Madison

“Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion... in private self-defense.” John Adams

“The Constitution of most of our states, and of the United States, assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed and that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of press.”  Thomas Jefferson

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms..disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed one." Thomas Jefferson

"The beauty of the second amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." Thomas Jefferson

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” Thomas Jefferson

“The Constitution shall never be construed... to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.  Samuel Adams

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”  Second Amendment, U.S. Constitution

There is much talk around here (East Tennessee) about B. Hussein and his plan for gun control.  The gun stores are "booming" (get it) selling guns and ammo.  Rigs for reloading ammo are selling like donuts.  There's a waiting line for custom AR15s.  All over the country there are more amd more rumors, talk and fanciful wishes for an assassination of "the one".  When I opened my homepage, there was an article talking about it.  Damn, they're slow.  I been hearing all kinds of stuff like that for months.
Obamatards are catching hell too.  Spray paintings, flat tires and even a couple ass kickings.  How dumb is that?  Can't change an idiot's mind with that.  Obama will screw things up real good, with the help of those dumbasses in congress......that's what will change people's minds.  In the meantime, I'm waiting for the mid-term congressional races (remember, congress has the LOWEST approval rating in HISTORY and it was the democrats that masterminded and executed the worst economic crisis in history) to clean out congress a bit, while bitterly clutching my Bible and my guns, and getting in a little of target practice on the side.
The biggest problem I see is that most people that voted for "Barry" really  don't understand who he is, or they're radical anti-Americans too.  Look who he hung out with and who supported him......bunch of scumbags!
  • simon
... wierd so you reckon over half the population of America is anti-Amirican.... what a strange view, and if true, a strange country.
Maybe you should try and abandon democracy (like say Saudi Arabia), and only have the absolute rulers that you approve of. Then you could run the whole country with bibles and guns you love.
  • Chris
    Simon,
<div>   I am not religious but the values of Christianity, hard work, family values have built this country. If God is removed then the liberals will say that no man can judge other man. Most of today's liberals stand for nothing and the country was not founded on the government redistributing the wealth.</div>
  • Chris
    Simon,
<div>  Tonto is correct there are plenty of people here who cannot stand America as we know it.</div>
<div>Having no guns is doing the UK so much good. lol!!</div>
    <div>
    </div>
<div>Obama should not be able to rule over our Constitution. He is the biggest con man going.</div>
  • simon
    Chris
... well as (what you would call a liberal) I like America, I also (so far) like Obama, i also think wealth distribution within reason is not a bad thing. Having lived for 5 years in Holland, Which is broadly more socialist than Britain, I have to say I approve. So obviously we are bound to disagree on most things.

Also I do not think it is the liberals that say no man can judge another man... I think that was jesus.
"judge not so that you will not be judged"... maybe he was a liberal?
  • Storm-Rider
    Chris,

You're trying to find the right track, but you missed the mark on American Leftist Socialists. They are all too willing to judge other men based on their basically Marxist values. What they are not able to accept is that there is a power higher than their Socialist State - such as set of Divinely derived laws, and human rights, which are higher than human government it’s self. In effect the Marxist must worship the all-powerful State (themselves) since there is simply nothing higher in their worldview; and thus Marxism becomes tantamount to, or a substitute for religious faith.

In the Declaration of Independence our founding fathers took an anti-Socialist, anti-Marxist worldview - that our human rights to life, liberty and creative pursuit of happiness come from a source higher than human government. This idea is anti-Marxist because Marxists adhere to atheistic faith, and are hostile to the religious faith of our founders and of the majority of Americans. Marxists believe that our human rights are not of Divine origin but originate from human (preferably Marxist) government, and are therefore not unalienable.

The purely rational idea of our Declaration regarding the source of government power is also paradoxically rejected by Marxists, even though they claim a “scientific” underpinning for Marxist-Socialist government. Our founders declared that just government power can only derive from the (informed) consent of the governed, i.e.: majority rule through elected representatives. Marxists adhere to elitist minority rule over the majority which is irrational, unscientific and regressive. These Marxist Socialists have erected a giant Robin Hood (Robin Hood with a gun) scheme where the masses are divided into classes usually based on race or property ownership; and they, the elite Socialist ruling class, stay in power through excessive coercive taxation and wealth redistribution – they buy the votes of the minority classes.

Chris, the Marxist American Left will judge other men, but they will not allow individuals to judge their Socialist State – it is their god.

Socialism is centred aroud being of some use and working until death, then discard that person. The very idea of such repulses all decent and right thinking members of society, that look to take care of the weaker. Socialism does not take from the rich to give to the poor, it creates a two tier system, of the working population and the elite non workers giving them an orgy of wealth while the vast majority of the nation works until death.
I hope that is realised by the liberals, there will be no more silly demonstrations, it will be just hard work, and Doris Day's old song of "whose sorry now" comes to mind.
    Joan
  • Alex
I really can't stand that song... it grates on my nerves. Please re-edit the video without that crap.  Anyway... good point. I'm keeping my guns.
    And have a nice day!!!
  • Tonto
Simon, actually, I think that liberalism is a result of conservatism doing too god of a job creating a protected environment in which the stupidity of liberalism can exist.  Liberals are either ACORN type, professional welfare pukes that see the left as a vehicle to get more freebies from, or "elites" (plastic people) that have schooled and lived in a protected suburban zone all their lives.......you know, the execs who's toughest job is to figure out how to tell the secretary that they need X amount of color, collated copies of the report she just typed for the "meeting" (of which they have all too many).  The elites have been taught all their lives by liberal teachers, and since neither the teachers or the taught have never lived a real life or had a real job, one in which they actually had to do hard work, outside their protected environment, they don't know any better......they're ignorant as hell but absolutely convinced they're right.  Stupid as hell, most of them.  But in their world, it's "cool" to be liberal.  That clear it up for ya?
  • ljcarolyne
What you said, KICK THE SOB OUT!  Keep the guns and throw the "baby daddy" OUT with the bath water.
  • @Alex:

It's not my video, talk to the Youtube user who uploaded it.
  • Pete From Australia
Australia has always had gun control of varying degrees, the change mentioned in the video was the banning of automatic and semi automatic assault weapons. The statistics provided are also wrong (and taken from a hoax email I might add). For actual information about those statistics see this link:

    http://www.snopes.com/crime/statistics/ausguns.asp

I would love the maker of the video to give me ONE example of an armed populous fighting off their own national army. It sure didn't help the confederation in the civil war.
  • Tonto
Yeah Pete, it didn't much help the Confederacy much (and we're really still fighting that war) but what it did do was kill more Americans in that 5 year waste than in all the other wars the US has ever been involved in....combined.  It WAS a very close thing though.  The Union almost lost...it was very iffy near the end.
I'll bet you a dollar against a bucket of poop that I could come to Sidney and  have a pistol to carry in a week, if not a fully automatic assault weapon.  When you outlaw guns, you can bet that outlaws WILL have guns.
  • Chris
Why would anyone want us to be defenseless?
  • Storm-Rider
What anyone thinks pales in comparison to what our founding fathers thought on this subject - see my first comment. If we don't adhere to the founding principles and laws, i.e.: The Declaration of Independence and Constitution - as written, the United States will morph into something our founders would not recognize as the United States of America, and something at which they would direct their opposition and hostility. The United States is in danger of morphing into Marxist-Socialist tyranny.
  • Storm-Rider
To save the great republic that our founders established I believe we need to do the following:

    1. Write and publish articles relating to our founding American Values.

    2. Talk about our founding American Values with our families, neighbors and co-workers.

    3. Get very involved in School boards and local government, and for some of us, get involved in higher levels of government.

    4. Amend our Constitution with term limits for Congress and the Supreme Court, and provide Congress with 2/3 override power for all Supreme Court decisions impacting or relating to the Constitution its self. This amendment should also identify the Supremacy of the laws in our Declaration of Independence over Constitutional law.

    5. Enforce the tenth amendment by breaking up all entitlement programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security into fifty state programs. Also, make the Department of Education an advisory agency only - ban all educational matching grants from the federal government to the states - let the states and the people educate their children without the socialist federal state.

    6. Cease federal funding of the ACLU and similar organizations.

    7. Consider creating non-voting citizen status for those who pay less than 10% in taxes – no voting in federal elections unless you pay at least 10% in federal taxes – no voting in state elections unless you pay at least 10% in total state, local and sales taxes.
  • Storm-Rider
    Founding American Values:

    1. All men are created equal - equal before the law, i.e.: American Revolutionary human equality - not government-enforced economic equality, i.e.: French Revolutionary and Marxist equality.

    2. Our human rights to life, liberty and creative pursuit of happiness are sacred - from God and therefore irreversible - not from the State and thereby reversible.

    3. Liberty  =  freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion (religion non-subversive of liberty), freedom to defend life, freedom to own property creatively attained by the sweat of your brow, freedom to have privacy at home, freedom to petition government for grievances, and government power divided into three branches.

    4. The entire reason for human government is to secure our essential human rights as listed above.

    5. Just government power can only derive from the informed consent of the governed. All other government power is unjust, and subject to tyranny.

    6. When government becomes destructive of our essential human rights as listed above, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish the government; i.e.: we have a right to revolution, if necessary, against government destructive of our essential human rights.
  • simon
... well storm that sounds great, and it gets my vote. Only an idiot could disagree with that. Very good principles.
  • Greg
Isn't it weird how anti gun people either look at true statistics and ignor them, or they don't bother reading them at all.
Why do people like simone choose to be ignorant? Do they think that they will never have to look down the barrel of a gun while being robbed or raped?
Oh and Simon....this has nothing to do with "judging". So you can stop taking Christian theology out of context. I don't think that one Hollander in one thousand hollander is qualified to use the Bible for ANYTHING, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T KEEP THEIR PANTS ZIPPED UP LONG ENOUGH TO READ.
Holland deserves what the muslims are doing to it. Soon enough the muslims will be running things there like they were able to do in Iran......
  • Storm-Rider
    Greg,
I never mentioned Christian theology because I believe in separation of chruch and state. I mentioned God only because our founding fathers did so - they said we are all created equal before the law, and our essential human rights (life, liberty and creative pursuit of happiness) are of Divine origin and are therefore unalienable.
  • Storm-Rider
    Oops,
Sorry, Greg, I see you were addressing Simon rather than me.

The criminals will never turn over thier weapons...call me a criminal.
  • The good thing about the JPFO message (gun control leads to tyranny) is that it can resonate with fence sitters. And fence sitters (including the gun owning kind) are the ones we need to focus on. For mine though, ending the video with "Wake the fuck up" basically makes it unusable.  They focus on the crass language, wonder for a second why we thought we needed that, and never lookat or think of the video again.
  • Liz
Storm Rider...I couldn't agree more with the to do list. The only thing that has to happen for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.  I was watching Fox last night and there is a new documentary coming out in which they interviewed people coming out of the polls. It was really terrifying what I saw. The level of ignorance of those who voted for Obama was unbelievable. All they knew was what the main stream media...can anyone say Pravda?....was feeding them. They didn't know anything about government....the most basic questions. Who is in control of congress,  who represents us...i.e. congress and senate, who is jeremiah Wright, what is Acorn, what is the democratic party platform, what is the republican platform, what do these parties believe?
I think that the media is very close to becoming the propaganda machine for a new socialist government.  They spoon feed propaganda to ignorant people who's only source of learning is the idiot box in their living room, and the people swallow it hook line and sinker. Our nation is in jeopardy...there is no question of that. Rush Limbaugh said he hopes things get so bad that people learn their lesson. I sort of agree...with trepidation.
  • jennyjen
Liz, the stupidity of the majority is astounding. I am not innocent by any means, I can tell you the names of more Nascar drivers than I can Congressmen. I have realized my terrible ignorance and stopping it before I become one of "them".  The media feeds the masses what they want and they want to be entertained. They don't want to think too hard or possess any knowledge of their government- that's just too much to take in. The old saying, "you've made your bed, now go lie in it", comes to mind.
