Civilians killed as bomber blows himself up in crowded marketplace

A SUICIDE bomber targeting passing police vehicles detonated his explosives in a crowded bazaar in southern Afghanistan this afternoon, killing 10, a police official said.

Eight civilians and two police died in the blast in the central bazaar in Musa Qala in Helmand province. Six children and two more police officers were among the 27 wounded, provincial police chief Asadullah Sherzad said.

So far there has been no confirmation that the Taliban were behind the attack. A statement on the Taliban website said the explosion had been caused by a landmine.

But Sherzad told Reuters that the bomber walked up to the convoy and detonated his device.

Musa Qala has been the scene of repeated clashes between insurgents and coalition forces. Taliban forces overran the town in early 2007 after British forces handed control to the local population and it took a huge operation by US, British and Afghan soldiers last December to dislodge the insurgents.

More than 5,900 people have died in insurgency-related violence this year, according to figures collected by AP.

Study history and you'll see that the Catholic Church, i.e., the Universal Church or Christian Church, has been constant in teaching it's precepts. In other words, the precepts have never changed. That is the reason that the Catholic Church claims "infallibility" but only in the area of faith and morals. No, the Catholic Church isn't infallible in astronomy, math, et cetera. ONLY IN FAITH AND MORALS.
