Canada defends discrimination against tourism to Israel

Do you like this story?

So the canucks want to be in bed with the Saudi’s. Better they offend Jews than muslims, because we all know that Jews won’t blow themselves up in stores, buses, trains, planes, churches, etc… whereas muslims love to blow things up (including themselves) and riot, kill and destroy in the name of their cult over cartoons.

Canada defends Saudi policy of shunning tourists who visited Israel

The Canadian government has come to the defense of Saudi Arabia, telling The Jerusalem Post that the desert kingdom’s policy of barring entry to Canadian citizens whose passports bear an Israeli visa or border stamp is “accepted practice.”

According to the Web site of Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, “Canadians have been denied entry into Saudi Arabia because their passports bore: a) an Israeli visa; b) an Israeli border stamp; or c) an Egyptian or Jordanian border stamp issued by an office bordering Israel (such a stamp would indicate the traveller entered from Israel).”

Contacted via e-mail by the Post, Department spokesman Lisa Monette was asked how the Canadian government views the Saudi policy. Monette refused to criticize or condemn the practice, instead asserting that, “it is the sole prerogative of each country or region to determine who is allowed to enter.”

When pressed further on the matter and asked if Canada had raised the issue with Saudi officials, Monette once again reiterated the right of every country to impose such rules, describing it as the “accepted practice within the international community.”

Contacted by the Post, a leading Canadian Jewish organization expressed outrage over Saudi Arabia’s policy and said they would raise the matter with Canadian government officials in Ottawa.

“We will ask the Canadian government to make every effort to ensure that Canadian citizens are not discriminated against by the human-rights abusing regime of Saudi Arabia,” said B’nai B’rith Canada Executive Vice President Frank Dimant. “The issue goes well beyond Canadian passports and is a matter for all democracies in the world to deal with,” he added.

Pure and pathetic appeasement, but what do you expect from a socialist country full of lefty liberals who claim to be about free speech, as long as you agree wholly with them?

The policy has been in place for decades. And Canada is run by a conservative government. From this site I was hoping for an intelligent exposition on the real dangers posed by Islam; reminds me of Al-Jazeera minus some restraint.

    Brad,
No one said that this policy has not been in place for decades. Is that supposed to make it OK?
Todays Western "conservative" governments are not too conservative anymore.

    Brad,

How do you figure Canada is run by a conservative government? They stifle free speech (Mark Steyn) and molly coddle jihadists. Doesn't sound very conservative to me… As for this site reminding you of Al-Jazeera minus the restraint, please elaborate, because Al Jazeera does all it can to legitimize muslim jihadists, including those who kill "moderate" muslims when they detonate their vests. The fact that I do not restrain myself when mocking the cult called islam does not take away from the truth, that islam = violence/hate/mysoginy/racism/slavery, you get the idea.

Lefties? The RH Harper and friends are on the right. Socialist? Israel is socialist too. It must be nice to be able to split the world into the left and right as if the right somehow is better to Israel than all others. Would you say James Baker III is a lefty? Would you say Saudi's are lefties? Iranians? Hamas and Hez lefties? Jeez.
