More emancipation for women, from the religion of peace.

ISLAMABAD, Dec 16: The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has declared the term ‘gender equality’, used in Section 7(a) of the National Commission for Status of Women Ordinance of 2000, ‘vague and un-Islamic’ and called for its repeal.

In its review of laws report for 2008, which is yet to be presented to the government, the CII said that instead of using ‘ambiguous’ terms, Islamic principles of equity and justice should be implemented in letter and spirit in gender-related matters.

The council, which had opposed the constitution of the NCSW, further recommended that the commission’s recommendations in Section 7(b) of the ordinance should be “in consonance with established Islamic laws”.

The council declared that the repeated use of term ‘gender equality’ as an ultimate target by the commission was ‘impractical thinking’.

It explained that the concept of ‘gender equality’ was impracticable because of ‘distinct differences’ in anatomy and physical and mental capabilities. The CII described the term as ‘absurd and un-Islamic’.

The council further stated that the composition of the NCSW was objectionable under Section 3 of the law. It recommended that women members of the commission should have knowledge of Islamic teachings.

And people living in muslim countries wonder why the rest of the world thinks they are all backwards.

What a surprise! If their sagacious opinion had been the reverse then some people might have deemed “muslim
scholars”to be less than the morons they so clearly are.
Once more dogma trumps truth and common sense in their warped reality.

What on earth is “vague” about the term “gender equality”? Clear to the meanest understanding, surely? Equality of the sexes – men and women. Equal rights. No superiority/inferiority. “Unislamic” I entirely understand, for equality of the sexes is foreign to their modes of thought. These villains point to physical differences and say, “See? We are different! We are bigger and stronger! Thus, there can be no gender equality.” This tells us much about the male Muslim view of females. They are just physical entities to be dominated by stronger males and to be enjoyed. They must be subservient. They are to be denied equal rights. They must do our bidding, and we can beat them if they disobey. Let us overlook such small details as brain power and ability to reason: our muscles are stronger. Might is right.

What utterly perplexes me is the fact that so many women are reputedly converting to Islam. This is the greatest mystery of my life. Can anyone out there account for it?

You say, Hellosnackbar, that dogma trumps truth and common-sense. Right on, old chap! Tragic, isn't it? Brainwash infants into the dogma of religion and the chances are they will never escape its shackles. This is why there continues to be religion in our world. It is nothing more than child abuse.
