PARIS: France’s interior ministry says masked thieves who attacked a young man east of Paris to steal his car repeatedly stabbed him after noticing he was wearing a Jewish symbol.

Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie has condemned the “revolting attack” in the suburban town of Fontenay-sous-Bois and says authorities are working to find the perpetrators.

The ministry said in a statement Friday that the attackers shouted anti-Semitic threats at the man as they stabbed him four times with a knife in the Thursday evening attack.

It did not provide details on the man’s condition.

Alliot-Marie has said France has experienced a clear increase in anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim attacks since Israel began an assault against Hamas in Gaza on Dec. 27.

Anti-muslim attacks? I have not seen cars being driven up to mosques while on fire. That is something muslims do. I have not seen muslims singled out by gangs of Frenchmen, Jews, etc… violently assaulted. That is something muslims do. Where is the proof of these alleged anti-muslim attacks? All I have read is there is some anti-muslim sentiment, and who could blame anyone? I mean, all we hear about when we hear islam/muslims in the news is violence, hate, and calls for genocide against the Jews. Of course THINKING people are going to have anti-muslim feeling!!!! But we will not act like wild beasts, as muslims across the globe are inclined to do, because as Geert Wilders said “Our culture is better.”.

    Rick, I am not disagreeing with you, but the report is ambiguous, while the facts on the ground are obvious. Muslims in Gaza and other areas are tolerating a vicious, murderous uprising of anti-semitic thugs in their own neighborhoods, homes and families. On the other hand, it is exceedingly rare to find a christian or jewish attack on a muslim. Except for Israel responding to hundreds of mortar attacks and missile attacks. But apparently that isn't a response to an obvious act of war, in that Hamas agitated for and allowed acts of war to happen in lands under their control. No, it seems to be pretty obvious to Europeans and Arabs that Israel should allow rockets to kill Israelis and not attack Hamas, a legitimately elected government. Which is just as legitimate as Nazi Germany in 1937. If the Palestinians elect a group that calls for the end of the nation next door, then the Palestinians have to accept the results of their election. Elections have consequences. And the Gazans are paying for their choice. Hamas is killing Gazans, because they know that is the only way they can stay in power.

    That's not what it said. It said "anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim." An increase in anti-Semitic attacks and no increase in anti-Muslim attacks (and even a decrease in anti-Muslim attacks smaller than the increase in anti-Semitic attacks) technically is an increase in anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim attacks.

    I'm not saying that's the case, but it's one way you could interpret it.

    Tonto, Michael Yon is down as being impressed by the skill of the Brits and even more impressed by courage of the Lithuanians, but I think he mentioned that the French got their asses handed to them in Afghanistan recently because they had neither training nor common sense. France is in a bad place, and I don't imagine their leaders are going to lead them any more effectively than ours have. And they were starting from a much worse worse position, demographically. European Muslim youth are behaving worse than the brown shirts in Germany's 1930's, and people choose to look away.

    According to Mike Yon, who sees a lot of combat in Afghanistan, the French troops there are real hard core devils in a fight. I think it might be a matter of riling them up enough. Seems like the reports from other European countries bears this out a bit. Italy, Denmark and Sweden have had group confrontations between muz and natives........hopefully it's just a matter of time before France has had enough of muz animals and starts throwing the bums out. Of course, in this country (USA), more and more people are going armed (legally), so muz could be turned into an "endangered species" if things get too stupid here.

    Isn't it weird how the world media and world leaders persistently work at deceiving the world about islam? Especially in France. Must have something to do with the natural cowardice of french people. and maybe the world leaders think that most people are just plain stupid.
