Saudi Arabia: Religious police threaten Pastor’s life

by Kal El on February 4, 2009 · Comments

Such tolerance from the inventors of the “religion” of “peace”! Lest we forget that just last year, the king of Saudi Barbaria called for an interfaith dialogue conference. In Europe! Why in Europe, you ask? Why, because Jews are not allowed in Saudi, and merely possessing any Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, etc… materials in Saudi will get you harrassed, detained, possibly tortured and jailed, maybe even killed. All courtesy of islam.

SAUDI ARABIA: PASTOR FLEES DEATH THREATS

Religious police, others warn key figure in expatriate church to leave.

LOS ANGELES, January 30 (Compass Direct News) – A prominent foreign pastor in Saudi Arabia has fled Riyadh after a member of the mutawwa’in, or religious police, and others threatened him three times in one week. Two of the incidents included threats to kill house church pastor Yemane Gebriel of Eritrea. On Wednesday (Jan. 28), Gebriel escaped to an undisclosed city in Saudi Arabia. A father of eight who has lived and worked as a private driver in Saudi Arabia for 25 years, Gebriel told Compass that on Jan. 10 he found an unsigned note on his vehicle threatening to kill him if he did not leave the country. On Jan. 13, he said, mutawwa’in member Abdul Aziz and others forced him from his van and told him to leave the country. “There was a note on my van saying, ‘If you do not leave the country, we will kill you,” Gebriel told Compass by telephone. “Three days after that, [Aziz] said, ‘You’re still working here, why don’t you go out of the country?” Two days later, Gebriel told Compass, four masked men – apparently Saudis – in a small car cut off the van he was driving. “They said, ‘We will kill you if you don’t go away from this place – you must leave here or we will kill you,’” he said.

Now, because many liberals are such thick headed simpletons (Jimmy “We should trust Hamas” Carter, anyone?), I will repeat: In many muslim countries (Saudi, Jordan, Iran, Egypt to provide examples) conversion to Christianity can GET YOU KILLED. If it doesn’t it will GUARANTEE unending harrassment, courtesy of muslims in positions of authority, and even the “moderates” will clamor and call for your death.

The situation of the Christians in muslim lands are DIRE,to say
the least. In Egypt, the Copts are subject of various ways of persecution,
as the Christians of Bethlehem, whose numbers are declining, much
because the death threats received from their muslim neighbors.

In the Gaza Strip,to be a Christian is to beg to be bullied by Hamas's
    thugs.Many simply already left.

I wonder why this subject isn't covered by the western media...I,
    I forgot...It isn't a "POLITICALLY CORRECT" matter,because
    could offend the muslims!!

Funny...they can build HUNDREDS of mosques throughout
    Europe,North America,South America and Australia,with HUGE
minarets, taller than its surrounding buildings in order to
demonstrate the prowess of Islam, whilst they FORBID
Churches,Synagogues,Hindu and Ba'Hai temples in their
    turf....

    Sounds UNFAIR?
    YEP.
But it's politically incorrect to denounce this odd situation,

This "isolated incident" has happened too many times, too often to NOT be considered the norm...all over the Muslim world.
  • Khaled
it appears so. That's unacceptable. it's still an isolated incident.

If it were limited to just Abdul Aziz, you might have a point, but the article says there was a policeman with him. Involving a policeman gives the whole matter an official sanction.

hm, I only read the summary not the link you just posted ...
"Abdul Aziz" is a common name and he only gave first name...

in any case, what abdulaziz did was not acceptable in any case. There are many Christians working here for many years and many nationalities... Why did they do that now? in any case I hope he files an complaint regarding that.

Read the full article (http://www.compassdirect.org/en/display.php?page=...They give name of the mutawa involved. (I find it astounding that in a rare moment of truth that the arabs call their religious police mutawa'in, meaning "subjugated people."). How much more do you want? Or are you just a naysayer that will deny anything negative about mohammedism?
  • khaled
    that doesn't sounds like proof
  • ComputerJockey
Warrants and badges aren't the way the religious police work in Soddy. What further proof do you want?
  • Greg
And there are plenty of other stories about the mutawwa squads out there. Most middle-class arabs hate them. those middle -class arabs wanted Saddam Hussein to be able to invade Saudi Arabia BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN RID OF THE MUTTAWWA SQUADS. They screw up an arabs chance of dealing well with foreigners.....
    So there.
  • Greg
Hey Khaled, stop denying the obvious. The author states very clearly that the stinking mutuwwa forced him from his vehicle........The statement starts on line 8, fool.
    Read it.
  • Khaled
fair enough, but the link had no proof of the people mentioned were working for the government .
  • ComputerJockey
Right, one that just so happens to be endorsed by the thugs running the government of Soddy Arabia. (Yes, the misspelling was intentional). The link you provided is a person's opinion piece, obviously not endorsed by the government here.
  • Khaled
sounds like a random, unacceptable incident , some idiot phobics that don't represent everyone else.
example, is she a representative of all christians/americans http://www.worldnetdaily.com/?pageId=79276?
