Libya “Detains” And “Tortures” Four Christians For Leaving Islam

by Infidelesto on March 16, 2009 · Comments

Yep… another story of Christians being victimized by Muslims.

“Fearing for their lives, converts from Islam are on the run,” the group added.

It’s sad that it takes a little old blog like this to get these stories out.  This violations of human rights should be blasted all over the news.  The Liberal Press only cares about human rights when the perceived perps are Jews or Christians.

TRIPOLI, LIBYA (Worthy News) — Libya’s feared intelligence service has “detained and tortured” four Christians for converting from Islam, as part of a wider crackdown on people embracing Christianity, human rights group said in comments monitored by Worthy News Thursday, March 12.

U.S.-based International Christian Concern (ICC) said the believers, whose names were not identified, were imprisoned for the past seven weeks in Tripoli, Libya’s capital.

“Libya’s External Security Organization is believed to be behind the detention and torture of the Christians” ICC said, citing local sources.

The security agents have reportedly barred families from visiting the detained converts and ICC said they “are putting severe physical and psychological pressure on the Christians in order to force them to reveal the names of other converts.”

“Fearing for their lives, converts from Islam are on the run,” the group added.

TORTURE REPORTED

ICC said the detention and alleged torture of the Christian converts come despite efforts by Libya to improve ties with the international community.

Libya began re-establishing relations following the recent lifting of sanctions, which were imposed due to the country’s involvement in the bombing of an American airliner, in which 270 people were killed.

However, “by torturing the four Christian converts and stifling religious freedom, Libya is once again violating basic principles of the international human rights law,” ICC said. Libyan officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

“We call upon Libyan officials to stop torturing the four Christians and release them from detention,” added ICC Regional Manager for Africa, Jonathan Racho. “Libya must respect the rights of its citizens to worship freely and not to be tortured. We particularly ask the Libyan leader and the current head of the African Union, Mr. Muammar Gaddafi, to set the prisoners free and demonstrate his country’s commitment to respect human rights.”

The group said it had urged its supporters to “pray for the safe release of the detained believers” and “for comfort and strength of their families.”

Those, who claimed to be in jail in Libya because of their conversion.
We share the same believes and ideas. Actually we love all religions,
God told us, in the holy Quran, to believe in him and in his prophets
    and in his holy books.

We condemn any news which describe our leader, in a
negative ways. Some news say that, "Muammar Al-Qaddafi is behind their
arrest, and that he doesn't like Christians. We , Libyans, know who
Al-Qaddafi is. Al-Qaddafi's ideas and philosophy is bigger than events
like these. In Libya. We call him the leader. He is a revolutionary
man. His ideas are brilliant. He is an open minded and against any
kind of discrimination be it racial or even religious discrimination.

Al- Qaddafi is man who have a philosophy. He is a philosopher and
thinker. We love Al-Qaddafi, and we have learned many things from him.
He is a nice man. We love him. I deny any news that say he is behind
the arrest of converted people from Islam. We know that he is a kind
man. He respects all religions. We used to listen to his speeches and
enjoy the things he talks about. We wish him well and may God bless
him and his family. After all his philosophy and ideas are proved to
be more wise than many world leaders and presidents who brought
destruction to the world such as president Bush's ideas and
    philosophy.

As for my cousins, they are free now.

    Blessings

The people of Lockerbie revere Qaddafi's name. He did wonders for the building trade in that little town, remember?
  • Kal_El
Qaddafi is a terrorist who only stopped because Reagan bombed his home into
oblivion. Spread your lies elsewhere, they will find no place to take root
    here.
  • LOL, you all are nice people, but you seem to be simple in your discussion. your point is hate rather than understand what this Libyan guy trying to say. I don't know why Americans when they hear about some Arab leaders they become poet writers, I know that Qaddafi is not innocent but how about other countries? who is holding the weapons now? who is ruling the world now? and who is trying to cross miles and miles in order to be around such people. I do believe that USA is doing many things great. but I do believe that many people are harmed by USA policies not only in Iraq but also in USA. So, if Al Qaddafi changed his policies and pay for what had happened, then we can call this "repentance" and as a christian I do believe that we have to understand this aspect. I know that infidelity is something can be cool for someone who is not an infidel, but for an infidel it is death of life. Anyway, I just want you to understand something called reread what our Lybian friend post and understand what he is trying to say. by the way, why this forum has no member, I can see just few people (maybe the same guy makes many nicknames) I am praying for you and for your heart. Peace of Jesus Christ

The truth is that Christians in muz lands are being killed and their churches burnt just because they are Christian. Sudan muz killed millions. Pakistani muz burnt churches and killed hundreds. Iraqi muz killed thousands and destroyed churches. There have been 13200 deadly jihadi attacks since 9/11......enough already. Jihad goes BOTH frickin ways! Time and PAST TIME for CRUSADE to wipe islam from the earth! Do I advocate violence against islam?.....absolutely!! Fight fire with fire. Convert or die!!! Maybe if we start cutting their heads off and killing their kids like they do ours, they'll see the point and "come to Jesus". Deus Vult!!!! God wills it!!!!

Qaddafi a nice man, is he? Ever heard of a place in Scotland called Lockerbie?
  • Tonto
He did try to pay reparations.....sharia style "blood money" and did so in good faith. He'll never be involved with that kind of crap again. For Lockerbie.

The guy's a villain, Tonto. His part in the '72 Olympics massacre and the '86 bombing of the nightclub in Berlin, as well as his military support of Idi Amin and his providing a safe haven for that cannibalistic monster all reveal the cut of his cloth. As well, he was engaged in a secret deal with AQ Khan to provide Libya with bellicose nuclear technology until the US found out. He might appear to be Mr Moderation these days, but that's only because America keeps him under the microscope: he's no fool; just a caponised villain.

Like I said, he learned a lesson the rest of the muz scumbags have not. The dummy 500lb. bomb the US military put in the backyard of his primary residence, with his name on it incidently, changed his attitude. A bomber that can blow through his whole air force and expensive/extensive air defence system and plant one from 35,000 ft with pinpoint accuracy fried his cockyness into oblivion. That's a true story, by the way.
  • hellosnackbar
He also warned Saddam Hussein that taking on th US military would open the gates of hell for him.
  • hellosnackbar
    He also has a reputation as a world class farter;at least two reports I have read tells how, about every 10 minutes he rattles the windows;
    wheresoever he is.

There are some rumors of Quadaffi being a cross-dresser as mohammad the half-assed prophet was too. And his all female bodyguard detail thing is also kind of amusing.

    Excellent story, Tonto. Brilliant!

Yes, he had a philosophy of terrorism. And you love him. So you love a man who harbored terrorists who killed innocent Olympic athletes, blew up airplanes, and nightclubs. Do you support terrorists too? Do you love Idi Amin as well?

Beejj, you gotta admit that he learned the error of his ways, so he may go down in History as the only islamic leader that had any brains at all. He did turn over all the material he had for making WMDs to the American government for disposal. I don't know if he eradicated all the terror training camps he used to have but he did figure out how vulnerable it caused him to be, especially with American 5th Fleet constantly cruising the Med and totally outclassing any defense he tried to whomp up. Obviously he ain't no dummy, and Mustafa is probably right. Under the right circumstances he would be a pretty nice guy. And why not. If he keeps the islamic wingnuts under control he has no problem with the US. The Libyan oil fields provide a steady income as long as peace prevails, and he saves himself the huge expense of maintaining a military that could never come close to US standards anyway. Kind of a smart man when you think about it........too bad the rest of them are so frickin' dumb.
