US muslims debating whether or not to assist FBI after ties with CAIR cut

by Kal El on April 7, 2009 · Comments

A clear demonstration of the internal divide in the muslim community in the US, as some truly want to live in peace, while others want to turn the US into an islamic sh*thole.

U.S. Muslims debate how much to help FBI

A petition organized by a Newark nonprofit urging Muslims to limit social outreach with the FBI has provoked a national debate within the Muslim community about how to deal with law enforcement.

The curb proposed by the petitioners – eliminating joint FBI town halls and other meet-and-greet events – is largely a response to the FBI’s restricting its work with the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the largest Muslim civil rights group.

The petitioners say their stand on behalf of CAIR, which has an extensive presence around the country and in the Bay Area, has larger meaning for all Muslim institutions.

“We’re fighting against being relegated to second-class citizenship,” said Agha Saeed, chairman of the Newark-based American Muslim Taskforce on Civil Rights and Elections, the coalition of national Muslim organizations that issued the March 17 petition.

The tensions with the FBI come as the agency insists that it wants better relations with Muslims.

“Oftentimes, the communities from which we need the most help are those who trust us the least,” FBI Director Robert Mueller said on Feb. 23 in Washington. “But it is in these communities that we … must redouble our efforts.”

The social interactions at the root of the debate played a critical role in building relationships between Muslims and law enforcement since the terror attacks of Sept. 11. CAIR, for example, organized a meeting with the FBI and nearly every major Bay Area Muslim group at a Santa Clara mosque in the wake of the attacks.

“CAIR was a pioneer,” said Mohamad Rajabally, former president of the Islamic Society of the East Bay, a Fremont mosque.

CAIR WAS a pioneer. They are the first major muslim organization to be called out for funding jihad. Not exactly something to be proud of. I do feel for those muslims who want to live in peace, as I know there are many. Sadly their voices are drowned out by the loons who want to supplant The Constitution.

Just the other day, I was hanging out with a friend of mine, who is muslim. He tried to tell me about islam, I told him I knew all I needed to, and that while I respect his faith, I will never submit. He drinks, chases girls and parties, like I do. He also prays five times a day. I asked him why muslims thought it so important to face a certain direction to pray, if God (or allah) is all around us at all times, and he could not give me a cogent answer. Same thing when I asked him why non-muslims were forbidden from entering Mecca, yet muslims are always welcomed in Jerusalem (Jewish capital), Rome/The Vatican, etc… I think I shamed him, when I asked why he blamed terrorism on US foreign policy, when muslims have been attacking the US since the 1780’s when we had no such policy. Same with Vienna in 1683.

With all their whining and funny ways not to mention their support for Hamas ,Hizbullah and the muslims demand that they deserve unearned respect.
The great American public is being very generous in treating them as second class citizens.
Since there is a possibility that each and everyone is at worst a potential terrorist and at best a sympathizer
with an ideology that seeks to weaken the infidel(most Americans).
They should consider themselves lucky that they are not interned.
The FBI should start an Apostacy program to talk muslims out of their ridiculous ambitions,
Prophylaxis is always better than cure.

the FBI was caught sending in an informant to a mosque to instigate terrorism.

Wouldn't you consider cutting off relations with someone who did that to you?

The FBI was INSTIGATING terrorism? Don't you mean they were INVESTIGATING terrorism?

No, I wouldn't consider cutting off relations with a LAW ENFORCEMENT agency that was trying to protect me from someone that was using a "religious" institution to recruit terrorists and plot acts of terrorism. I would expect them to do the same in any institution they suspected, especially any I belonged to. They will only act against those they gather enough evidence against to prosecute, they will not harm the institution, unless they find the whole istitution is involved.

No, I wouldn't consider cutting off relations with a LAW ENFORCEMENT agency that is trying to protect me from those who may be using a "religious" institution to recruit terrorists and plot to harm me through acts of terrorism.

Not if members of my family were known to blow themselves up in crowded
markets, fly planes into buildings, behead reporters, launch rockets at
schools, hide those rockets in children's playgrounds and hospitals, force
little girls into marriage with men in their 50's, and teaching children to
hate anyone just for being different. No I would not complain one bit.The
law is the law, and we have been under constant attack by muslims since the
    1780's.

I don't see how that justifies attempting to instigate terrorism.

Americans will never get some rest at home with a FIFTH COLUMN
called ISLAMIC COMMUNITY living (and plotting) amidst the American
population. In Somalia,American-born muslim terrorists are showing themselves...
American-born muslims plotted to kill American G.I's at their barracks,WITHIN
AMERICAN TERRITORY but they were thwarted, fortunately.

The FBI just CAN'T investigate them all,it's impossible. If a DEMOCRAT such
Franklin Delano Roosevelt had no regrets of rounding up thousands of
Japs during WWII,why doesn't Obama do the same to the muslims?

BECAUSE HE JUST BOWED TO A MUSLIM DESPOTIC MONARCH.That's
    your president.
