Can’t make it up: Team Obama invites Iran to July 4th events

As shocking as it is comical.  It’s like one thing after the next.  I can’t even keep up anymore…

YNET reported:

In a new overture to Iran, the Obama administration has authorized US embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4th.

A State Department cable sent to all US embassies and consulates late last week said that US diplomats could ask their Iranian counterparts to attend the festivities, which generally feature speeches about American values, fireworks, and, of course, hot dogs and hamburgers.

The notice, sent on Friday, said that the posts “may invite representatives from the government of Iran” to the events, a State Department official said Tuesday, quoting from the document. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss an internal communication.

It was not immediately clear how many embassies and consulates would actually invite Iranian diplomats to the July 4 parties or whether any Iranians would accept the invitations.

    It seems that the Iranian tradition of BURNING AMERICAN
    FLAGS publicly doesn't bother some folks at Washington...

    I wonder of what the Iranians will think of that invitation...maybe
    another imperialistic trick?Or better,a Zionist plot to embarrass the
    mullahs?Or could even be a joint "Crusader/Zionist" attempt to demoralize
    the very foundations of the Islamic Revolution?

    Yep.Inviting a raving lunatic to your birthday party seems a rather odd
    decision,but coming from president Hussein,it's becoming a natural thing
    that you can count.

    In my humble,insignificant opinion of a Brazilian Jew,inviting the Iranians
    is SHEER STUPIDITY that will go down in History as a dark day for America.

    As they continually spit in our face, continue their nuclear development, back terrorism, and just last week blamed America for terrorism in their country, we in turn invite them to come celebrate our founding values, which they DESPISE?

    I don't believe they will come anyway, but it begs the question: Why Ask?

    Yet another pointer to the character of this man Obama. It gets more and more interesting. Who knows what tricks he has up his sleeve for the rest of his term, if he lives that long.
