You misunderstand me, Lorayne. That which I wrote was not offensive, treasonous nor in any way encouraging of a threat against the life of your President. Perish the thought that I would ever countenance such a foul thing. I merely pointed out that Obama's policies are such that that it is entirely within the realms of possibility that someone or some group might resort to such an act. Political assassinations are not unknown in the US, and I do not only mean murder of the C in C. I vividly recall mentioning that MLK was a likely candidate for cowardly murder, given how his message would have been viewed by a certain section of American society in those days, so I was not surprised when it came to pass. Saddened beyond the telling, but not surprised.

As for my previous messages, there are some I wish I had not written, or had expressed my views in different language, but the blood sometimes runs hot and the ink flows too freely, so to speak.

When you refer to "this situation" I assume you mean the threat Islam poses to that which the rest of us consider to be civilised society. Muslims will scoff at my referring to America as civilised, pointing to its crime rate and all the rest of it. By the same token, life within the Soviet Empire had an almost vanishingly low crime rate, so their leaders, too, used this to claim superiority for their totalitarian system. I will argue, though, that America's high crime rate (let me hasten to add that all Western countries are in a similar boat) is a manifestation of the great freedom afforded the American people by their Constitution, so if eradication of crime can only be achieved through denial of such freedom, let crime flourish! Denial of freedom of speech and thought is a vastly greater crime than what we might term "normal crime" for it turns people into mindless automatons whose lives are drab and without hope. This is anathema to Americans. (At this point, some half-wit out there is going to claim I am in favour of murder, rape, theft, violence, greed and all the rest of it. Sometimes you just can't win ......)

Can Islam be banished from the world? No. Should we attempt to force-feed other religions or atheism into these people's tragic minds? No. Nothing could be more unAmerican.
