“Islam” is an Arabic word which means “submission to the will of God”. This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word “salam”, which means “peace”. As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to God and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that God revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty God, thus all human beings should submit to Him.

Who is Muslim
The word “Muslim” means one who submits to the will of God, regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background. Being a Muslim entails wilful submission and active obedience to God, and living in accordance with His message. Some people mistakenly believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are there converts to Islam in every corner of the world, especially in England and America, but by taking a look at the Muslim World from Bosnia to Nigeria, and from Indonesia to Morocco, one can clearly see that Muslims come from many various races, ethnic groups and nationalities. It is also interesting to note that in actuality, more than 80% of all Muslims are not Arabs – there are more Muslims in Indonesia than in the whole Arab World! So, though even though it is true that most Arabs are Muslims, the large majority of Muslims are not Arabs. However, anyone who submits completely to God and worships Him alone is a Muslim.

Continuity of the Message of All The Prophets of God Almighty
Islam is not a new religion because “submission to the will of God”, i.e. Islam, has always been the only acceptable religion in the sight of God. For this reason, Islam is the true “natural religion”, and it is the same eternal message revealed through the ages to all of God’s prophets and messengers. Muslims believe that all of God’s prophets, which include Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, brought the same message of Pure Monotheism. For this reason, the Prophet Muhammad was not the founder of a new religion, as many people mistakenly think, but he was the final Prophet of Islam. By revealing His final message to Muhammad, which is an eternal and universal message for all of mankind, God finally fulfilled the covenant that He made with Abraham, who was one of the earliest and greatest prophets.

Sufficient is it to say that the way of Islam is the same as the way of the prophet Abraham, because both the Bible and the Quran portray Abraham as a towering example of someone who submitted himself completely to God and worshipped Him without intermediaries. Once this is realized, it should be clear that Islam has the most continuous and universal message of any religion, because all prophets and messengers were “Muslims”, i.e. those who submitted to God’s will, and they preached “Islam”, i.e. submission to the will of Almighty God.

Geert Wilder stance is not new but it is revival of the ignorance of seventeenth century. Can you imagine hight of plurism in Islamic Society since and e during the last 1000 years even in the in the Europe Jews and Muslims were persecuted in Spain but Muslims were protecting Jews in Turkey. Christians lived under the islamic rulers in Syria, Palestine Egypt . No forced conversion and demolishing or restriction on church building was imposed but even Govt were repairing ailing church buildings. Evidence is there after 1400 year of Muslim rule a significant number of Christian live in Iraq, Iran, Syria, Egypt. They were never persecuted due to religion , obtained high position in the Courts.
I have strong and evident opinion that attitude and propaganda like Geert Wilder's will increase rate of conversion in every country in Europe. Higher will be resistant and propaganda higher will be conversion to Islam. European individuals are educated and free opinion makers. When any body see Islam from the window of comparative religion, he decides in favor of Islam.

And as an atheist if I were ever to contemplate embracing a faith;then Islam (the death cult)would never be considered even if Mohammed were to appear to me personally on his space donkey.

Since there have been 14992 "jihadi attacks" in which muzlim fanatical mad dogs have commited murder and worse against innocent people, many of them Christian, and Israel, homeland of the Hebrew Nation, has suffered grievous attacks for 60 years by foaming-at-the-mouth lunatic arab/muz armies, I think it's high time we have a Crusade and rub the cancer of islam from the planet. That may sound a bit harsh, but I truly think the world will be a better place when we rid ourselves of the stupidity of islam. Undoubtedly, it will have a tendancy to "clean up" the place. Islam is a blight on humanity, and really has no place in a sane world.

Islam the religion has been twisted and turned into the anti-everything religion where everyone is an extremist they seem to miss any thought that all our religions are intertwined and as everyone fights for Isreal they still can not see. why would Christians, Jews,Islamitesetc. fight over 1 location, and 1 place, maybe because all religions stem from 1 place and 1 event but their narrow minded lives blocks all vision, and even I as someone who is sceptical is open minded enough to see and a religion that blinds its people that much has to be a danger no?

Josh I almost agree with you, but without the "twisted and turned " Can you illustrate what historical evidence there is that the original version of Islam ie that practiced by Mohammed and His Companions was NOT an anti-everything religiona and anything other than extremist?

I see your point and after looking into i can't see much that Mohammed and his follows done that made him admirable or be seen as a prophet other than preeching. He didn't claim much unlike Jesus he just preeched basic and moral ideas and alike jesus came under criticism for preeching and was subject to several attacts however he had bodyguards who defended him. I personally beleive Mohammed is overstated he didn't do much He preeched about a God and wanted to change the ideas current people had, sounding a bit similar to Jesus here, a person with followers who preeched of new teachings and messages. The answer i'm getting to is the point that the fact there is more than 1 religion makes it dangerous contradicting views clash look at christianity, it can't put up with itself it's broken down into more sub-religions eg,catholisism,protestant etc. than I can count. My answer is that in a world of multi religions islam is the current religion fighting for itself, and so i suppose somewhere in islam there must be some motive to fight but if there was no religion wouldn't the world be a better place? Is islam just to blame? maybe i was harsh in my earlier judgement but at some point in time every religion has fought eg, the crusades now is it islams turn?

As for the Crusades? Check history and tell me what was happening in Europe during the period from the 7th Century to the 11th?

Oh and you might check out the little details like from the time of the Romans to the advent of Muhammed and his Compainions, genocidal total war was unknown on the Saudi pennensula.

Then after the Crusades were finished the Muslim Empire conquered Eastern Europe until turned back at the Gates of Vienna in 1683 Sept 11

It baffles me how so many people have turned away from Christianity and Judaism to secularism, and then turned around and accepted the invasion of Islam so readily. I'm a secular person, and I hate Islam and will resist it with everything I can. How about you atheists out there, can you explain what's going on?

Well, Storm Rider, you are vindicated. I remember our conversation of two months ago when I was excited that Sarkozy opposed the burqa. You said, don't rejoice so fast, he will behave as the Fench have behaved and so it is. There is so much to fight for and to make up for and they are rolling over and playing dead. I think that England has put in a worse performance. Given their track record that is absolutely baffling, unless you consider that the waning of faith included the waning of moral strength. The atheists on this site seem more intrepid than most. But I notice that in Europe the countries most distanced from their Christian roots, succumbed the fastest.
