Hillary Clinton backs off unequivocal support for Israel

Remember when Hillary said this last year during the campaign?

When asked what the US would do if Iran attacked Israel, she said this:

In the next 10 years during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them.

She’s backing off that statment now…

One year after declaring – as a presidential candidate – that an Iranian attack on Israel would be regarded as an attack on the US, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton earlier this week revealed that this was certainly not the policy of the Obama administration.

While the Iranians could expect ‘retaliation,’ America was not committing itself to come to Israel’s defense.

Clinton was being interviewed on ABC TV’s ‘This Week’ show by the station’s White House Correspondent George Stephanopoulos, who reminded her of what she had said in 2008.

Before playing a video recording in which Clinton emphatically states: “I would make it clear to the Iranians that an attack on Israel would incur massive retaliation from the United States,”Stephanopoulos told her that this “was your position during the campaign.”

“Is it US policy now?” he asked the woman who repeatedly describes herself as a staunch friend of the Jewish state.

Instead of sending the unequivocal and reassuring message Israel wants to hear on this critical existential issue, Clinton, um’d and ah’d.

“I think it is US policy to the extent that we have alliances and understandings with a number of nations,” she said, then added, “I don’t think there is any doubt in anyone’s mind that, were Israel to suffer a nuclear attack by Iran, there would be retaliation.”

Stephanopoulos pressed her: “By the United States?”

But she would not commit. “Well, I think there would be retaliation,” she said.

Gee, I wonder if our radical President had anything to do with this…

Israel DOESN'T need U.S. direct military help such as the presence
    of U.S.marines or Army.
    Israel needs BUNKER-BUSTER bombs.About 600 to 750 of'em to
    perform a 'special' mission.
Hillary could also feel free to use one of those bombs. She'll need
    some vaseline,though.
  • This is no surprise. You can always say what you would do in a certain situation, but when you are faced with it, things always seem different.

I have always believed that she was no real friend or ally of Israel. President Obama is even less. I would expect little to no reaction if Israel were attacked, even with WMD.

I'm sure that the American Jews will find this acceptable. The ones I've talked to hate the Isrealies. I was told that the reason is that there is no Jewish blood in the "European" desended Israelies. Not my oppinion, theirs.

This must explain way the American Jews voted for Obama - thay had to know what would happen.

Weebleats: "that there is no Jewish blood in the "European" desended Israelies"

80% of the American Jews voted for Obama because they're a bunch of BOLSHEVIKS.
I'm an ASHKENAZY,that means Jew from German origin, but STILL a JEW.
The SEPHARADI Jews are ethnically closer of the 'original' Jews who where expelled both
by the Babylonians in 586 B.C and by the Romans in 70 A.D. These expulsions are called
Diasporas. The first spreaded the Jews throughout the Middle East, the second brought
the Jews into Europe as Roman slaves. What we call "Germany" today received its first Jewish
inhabitants in the FIRST century A.D.,well before the first Christians converted from paganism.
A lot of Ashkenazy Jews are blond and blue-eyed because thousands of nordic 'barbarians' were
converted to Judaism and married with Jews.We are no less Jews than our arab-faced brothers
because we are white and blue-eyed.Many Sepharadis actually believe that.

    Amen!
  • Of the same European Jews some emigrated to the US, and others went to Israel. It is the same people, as well as the Jews from the Arab/Muslim countries.

It is the favourit myth of any anti-Israeli, what you quoted, and it is patently false in itself; moreover, applied to the US/Israeli descendents of European Jews it just doesn't make no sense does it?

The reasons for the US Liberal Jews betrayal of Israel is simple - it is the same as their betrayal of the European Jews in the WWII, while they were slaughtered by Nazis, unbothered by Roosevelt and Churchill.

The reason is, they have a good life and don't want to be bothered. IOW, they don't feel that they belong to the Jewish People which has rebuilt its ancient homeland in Israel.

They are Americans of Jewish descent whose grandparents were Jews.

Those that feel belonging to the People of Israel are also, naturally supportive of Israel. They are part of the People of Israel, i.e. the Jews.

Hillary did not have sexual relations with that campaign speech promise.
A short slippery slope from contender to sycophant.

"...all politicians are liars..." We should keep that in mind if the Iranian election does indeed go against Amadinejad. As if they had democracy there...it is a fact the real power is in the UNELECTED 'spiritual leader'. Iran is a theocracy, game doesn't change.

The most telling part of the video is obviously when she says '...we would be able to totally obliterate them...'. NOT that we would most definitely do so, that we'd be ABLE to do so. Vapid assurances from a woman I thought I could respect. There can be no Chamberlaining through this, one needs a backbone to be a vertebrate.
  • Tonto
You had to know that this would happen. Libtards that follow the monkey are pussies. I'll bet Hillary feels humiliated all the way to her toes on this one. Obama's efforts to suck up to the muz are amazing to me. The dude is totally spineless. I can't tell you how ashamed I am that this clown in a brooks brothers suit is the president of my country.
  • dunno_moire
"...the monkey..." That is uncalled for. Obama is as human as the rest of us. He isn't 'the one' and he isn't 'the monkey' either. Do you have any idea what 'tonto' means in colloquial espanyol (sic)?
  • Tonto
Up yours and who cares? The name comes from the TV show and given in war....you wouldn't understand, but whatever. The monkey, the chimp?....that too. Who cares? Yes it is. (monkey) Expresses an opinion doesn't it? The dancing monkey on a leash and the trained chimp riding a bicycle....get it? Besides, he look s like one. You think that idiot had all the moves he's doing planned? If you do, you're dumber than you sound and you should be the one called "el tonto" or "pendejo".
  • dunno_moire
well I'll give you one thing, you're relentless.

Some believe that the development of The Lone Ranger and Tonto were influenced by Karl May's 'Old Shatterhands and Winnetou'. Karl May's books involving the adventures of OS and W in a fictional American West are purported to have been favorites of adolf hitler when he was a child.

I don't like racism, I believe it has but one end. You know the old question that is always asked of the nazis: where would they have stopped? They wouldn't have - hitler and his 'race experts' are reported to have despised those of Polish, Slavic, African and other lineages.

I agree that Obama is a tool, albeit I believe he is not aware of the extent of his manipulation. If he is aware he deserves to be called Kapo Dajjal because he'll earn the name. Until proven guilty I'll assume he's innocent of the charge of being manipulated. Until then I choose also to refer to him as Barack Obama; a human being with what I pray are good intentions.

Like most terms and ideas in the English/American language, racism has become stereotyped. It's automatically assumed it's wrong to be a racist, while " The psychological precondition of racism is anxiety." What are the factors that can cause anxiety in individuals over race? Do Muslims create anxiety in infidels? Many do so deliberately with cries of "jihad" and terroristic threats. However, I don't believe Muslims are a "race", the race card is merely a tool in the arsenal of a terrorist organization. But, I believe the Jews can be considered a race because their God told them they were his chosen people. What then is it about the Jew that causes anxiety, and therefore racism, in non-Jews? I don't know, because I don't feel it myself. I do know what if feels like to be racist towards other races and have overcome it. So, I don't think we should look at racism as a crime, but as another psychological condition that can be dealt with and overcome, if the individual wants to. But, I say again, Islam is not a religion, and Muslims are not a race.

I agree that Obama may have been a tool when he was elected, but, I believe, as what happened with Hitler, those that thought they were manipulating him, have found him to be a slippery, hard to control tool now that he is in power. I think his actions in office show he knows where his support came from, whether he was manipulated or not. He has paid off many of his supporters already, SEIU, the UAW, and ACORN for example, but it's impossible to say where his control stops and his own actions begin now. He may be a human being, but is he an American? He continues to stall and delay in court against those that feel he isn't. If he is a citizen, why hasn't he documented it and gotten it over with? There are more questions than answers with BHO.
  • dunno_moire
I agree about overcoming, wise point.

You are right about Hitler, used first and then the snake that couldn't be held.

Obama will overcome and those that seek to ensnare him will be ensnared.

All peoples of One God are all brothers
  • SirWilhelm
She's just mouthing the party line, like the good, loyal, little girl she is. If she didn't rock Bill's boat over Monica, there's no reason to think she'll rock BHO's.
