MOGADISHU (Reuters) – Somalia’s hardline Islamist rebels beheaded seven people on Friday for being “Christians” and “spies” in the latest imposition of strict sharia, Islamic law, by the al Qaeda-linked al Shabaab group, witnesses said.[...]

“Al Shabaab told us that they were beheaded for reasons they described as being Christian followers and spies,“ said one relative, who gave his name only as Aden, after the killings in the south-central town of Baidoa.[...]

“My husband was missing up to 20 days. Al Shabaab confirmed to us that he and six others were beheaded. We are waiting for his dead body,” said Maryan, the wife of one of the victims.

    Sharia law will not come due to military conquest of the West or demographic changes. It will come because Western, non-Muslims want it as proof of their cultures tolerance. Western Muslims who do not want Shariah in their new nation are just out of luck. Fortunately it will take a long time before it is implemented in full and on all people regardless of religion. By that time I will either be dead of old age or floating on the high seas with an army of aerial, aquatic and amphibious killer robots at my disposal.

    Maybe sharia will come to Europe, but never to the Orient or to America. The far east won't tolerate it and so much of America is armed. Even the Japanese decided not to try to invade the US during WWII because "There will be an American with a gun behind every bush"

    Tonto,the Japanese did not invade the continental United States because they
    simply couldn't.They simply had no place to replenish the diesel consumed
    by the Japane Navy's engines.They managed to sent submarines,though.
    Some of the Alleutian Islands were invaded by the japs,but they were bombed and
    crawled back to Japan.

    Islam will not invade Japan because the Japanese have PRIDE in their
    cultural heritage and are very suspicious of foreign ones.They're RIGHT.
    America's problem is COMPLACENCY,for they never think something will
    happen to their way of life.

    The gravest mistake would be to think that only the lunatic fringe of Islam would applaud or approve of this behaviour. Islam is in its entirety way beyond the fringe so I doubt if a single, solitary Mohammedan feels a shred of remorse about this vile act. Face it, World: these people are devoid of what the rest of us think of as decency.

    Sharia gives any Muslim the ability to be judge, jury and executioner, 1300 years of progress in securing human rights reversed to the 7th century standards of an Arabian tribal leader. Why would anyone want to live under this system?
