ISLAMABAD: Abdul Aziz of Lal Masjid on Friday asked the government to enforce Islamic system in the country through parliament.

He was addressing second Shuhda-e-Lal Masjid Conference at the Lal Masjid after Friday prayers.

Aziz asked the government to enforce Islamic system in the country or else no one could block the way of a ‘bloody revolution’. He said no progress had been made in investigation into Lal Masjid Operation over two years.

He demanded the operation be declared extra-judicial. Aziz said his release was not part of any deal with the government.

Mufti Kifayatullah, a member of the NWFP assembly, spoke on the occasion to demand that the government cease military operation and initiate dialogue with Taliban.

He alleged that Pakistan Army was ‘killing its own people on behest of the US’.

Security was strict as on the first such conference last year, a suicide bomber blew himself up killing policemen and civilians. Clerics and seminary students attended the conference.
