Pakistan: Mingora gets music, dancing girls back after Taliban ousting

Yep, because under the Taliban’s strict islamic rule, music was forbidden, and dancing immoral. But executing a dancer, and dumping the bullet ridden corpse in the street, that is perfectly acceptable. And so are death threats against anyone who dances, or plays music. Gotta love that religion of peace…

Mingora gets back its dancing girls

LAHORE: Swat’s celebrated dancing girls have returned to Mingora to join revellers celebrating the defeat of the Taliban, the Telegraph has reported. More than 1,000 women from the city’s Banr Bazaar had fled earlier this year after Shabana, a famous performer, was murdered by the Taliban after a performance at her home. Covered in bank notes and CDs of her music, Shabana’s bullet-ridden body was dumped in the city’s main square. One of the Taliban leaders had announced on radio all the dancing girls would be killed unless they stopped their “immoral shows”.

Most of the women immediately posted signs saying they would no longer dance. Eventually they left for Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi. On Friday night, however, thousands took to the streets to celebrate the Independence Day and an end of the Taliban terror. Among them was Seema, 18, who said she had been a pupil of Shabana. She said she had fled to Karachi. She told Telegraph while many of the girls and their families remained scared of the Taliban, last night’s celebrations had given her hope that her customers would return. She said nearly half the dancing girls had now returned as the city heard music on the streets for the first time since the Taliban were ousted.

    The reason that the taliwackers have to pick on girls is that they ain't good enough to take on men. I talked to a Green Beret who had done 3 tours in Afghanistan and he said the real Afghans laugh at the "city boy" arabs that come there to be taliban. He said they're kinda "girly" and swish when they walk. That's how, at night, they can tell if approaching bad guys are taliban or Afghans.....by the swish.....fags!
