Uh Oh: Obama’s new pastor says “Islam is violent”

More than a year after he was forced to disown his Chicago pastor, President Obama has begun to attend services led by a Christian chaplain who views Islam as a violent faith.

Mr Obama has been an irregular church attender since becoming President, but has expressed a fondness for Carey Cash, the navy chaplain at the Camp David presidential retreat who has been criticised for proselytising in the military and his mistrust of Islam.

The White House insists that the Rev Cash, the great-nephew of the singer Johnny Cash, has not become Mr Obama’s new pastor, but it appears that the President has heard more sermons by him than any other minister since taking office.

The emergence of Mr Cash, 39, who was profiled on the front page of The Washington Post yesterday, will pose some tough questions for the White House — and for President Obama, whose father was Muslim.

In a 2004 book describing his deployment to Iraq the year before, Mr Cash calls Islam violent, a faith that “from its very birth has used the edge of the sword as a means to convert or conquer those with different religious convictions”.

Mr Cash, a chaplain in one of the first units to reach Baghdad, believes that a “wall of angels” protected his troops when they fought their way to the Iraqi capital in March 2003. During his deployment he baptised more than 50 servicemen.

    This remark is 100% accurate.It's historically verifiable through various sources,including muslim ones.

    But a politician can't speak that truth as it pleases.He's forced to say that islam "is peaceful",to appease the left
    and the muslim would-be conquerors.

    It must be very hard,humiliating to dispute a widely-known fact.

    Mr. Obama will hide his true religious beliefs as long as he possibly can before publicly professing to be a Muslim.,But every day his actions are doing more to "out him" as a believer,not of Christian value's,but a follower of the pedophile Mohammad's "religion of the sword".When liberal America wakes up and realizes that the "little o"s" just using them to further his socialist "Muslim in every closet" agenda it may be too late for anything other than a full scale Concord style tea party.

    Obama's found more cover for whatever his true beliefs are until he's ready to reveal them, whenever he feels secure enough in his power that no one can do anything about it.

    Now I'm wondering how much Rev Cash knows about Obama's ties to Islam. If he has an idea, I wonder if he might be feeling him out? That he might be trying to find what Obama's true beliefs are? But then, Obama probably leaves as soon as the services are over, he's too busy to hang around.

  • I am a bit surprised to hear President Obama is attending a church where the pastor may actually have a conservative leaning. Especially one who preaches in order to make new converts to Christianity. It will be interesting to see what happens with this.
