My Experience at Western CPAC 2009

by Infidelesto on October 19, 2009 · Comments

My experience at Western CPAC this weekend was unforgettable for many reasons.  I wouldn’t say it was because of the event organizers or even the speeches, but more so on the great relationship building among fellow bloggers and other great conservatives in attendance as well as the entertaining drama on a two occasions that definitely was worth noting.

Now before I jump into the few moments of drama at WCPAC I’d like to just mention some of the great people I met and some long time friends I was able to spend some time with.  First and foremost was the great folks on Blog Row.  Elizabeth Crum, the blog row coordinator did a fantastic job coordinating and accommodating all of us and we owe a lot to her for her efforts in getting the bloggers face time with several of the prominent speakers at the event.   Other great bloggers who were there were my long time friend Melissa Clouthier from melissaclouthier.com & rightwingnews.com, the Blogfather Ed Morrissey from Hotair.com, traffic gobbler Jim Hoft from Gateway Pundit, radio host and stand up comic blogger Stephen Kruiser, Multimedia blogger for Pajamas Media Ed Driscoll, Morgen Richmond and John Sexton from the excellent VerumSerum blog and a few other bloggers I got to meet including Caleb Heimlich, Rachel Alexander and Erik Telford.

There were also some definite positive points of the event like California Assemblyman Chuck Devore who’s running against Barbara Boxer for her Senate seat and California Gubernatorial candidate Steve Poizner who really impressed people. Here are some links from other bloggers who were at the event:

If you’d like to read on about the two moments of drama, which I feel are rather significant in the grand scheme of things please check these posts out too

Drama part 1 – John Ziegler vs David Keene (Head of the American Conservative Union)

Drama part 2 – Ed Morrissey ambushed on stage by “pay for play” panelist

Here are a few pics from the event.
