Muslim leader speaks on Fort Hood: Blames attack on “resentment of US Government” and nothing to do with Islam

Well that didn’t take long.

So called decent Muslims aren’t talking about the attack as much as they are about the backlash against the Muslim community…whining about themselves rather than the tragedy that just occured at Fort Hood.

Um yea when Muslims keep committing terror acts both at home and abroad, it’s kinda hard not to notice.  Of course people are going to be pissed.  What Muslims need to do is stand with the victims and vow to confront the evil within their own and with the exception of a handful of groups we can be sure that this won’t happen. Now more than EVER Muslims need to stand up and ADMIT the problem within Islam instead of attacking anyone who questions it or who is critical of the ideology.

Al Siddiq, president of the Islamic Center of Waco, followed the unfolding news of the Fort Hood tragedy anxiously, as a veteran of the U.S. Army himself, as a friend of some Muslim soldiers currently stationed at the Central Texas post and as a Muslim who has become wary of backlash.

Siddiq said the Muslim Islamic community is very concerned that the shooter on Fort Hood was a Muslim because Muslims tend to get all thrown into the same category. Since 9/11, Siddiq said, when an individual Muslim acts stupid, it affects the entire Islamic community. The concern is backlash against other Muslims, he said.

“We’ve been very fortunate in Waco,” Siddiq said. “But there’s always a backlash.” Siddiq said he had a great experience in the U.S. Army, both in Korea and stationed at Fort Campbell.

“That’s what hurts me the most,” he said. “The Army has accommodated Muslims. Not any other Army can offer what the U.S. Army offers.”

Siddiq said what he has heard is that the Fort Hood shooter may be a convert to Islam. He said he thinks the problem some converts have is not based on the Islam religion, but on the resentment toward the U.S. government that they bring to their faith.

    in their barracks...

    It seems that having muslims armed next to our troops, wearing the SAME
    uniform or not, isn't advisable.

    Muslims aren't trustworthy at any circunstance whatsoever.

    American soldiers wouldn't have to fight in Afghanistan next to Afghans if America pulled their troops out.

    If you hate us Muslims so much get your soldiers out of our countries and just block us from entering the West. We would prefer that to this constant military occupation.

    The one and only person that ever conquered Afghanistan and made it "stick" was Alexander.....and the muslim that came through there about 1000 years later. It can be done but would take a kind of brutality that the US would never countenance. Jordan was over-run by Palestinians when the Israelis defeated them the first time and then Jordan kicked them out. This Ft Hood guy is probably really a Palestinian, and those people are really mentally messed up. Look at them now! There is no doubt that this guy had some serious issues, and he was probably only tolerated and allowed to continue his career BECAUSE he is a native speaker of arabic, and a lot of the talibangers our troops capture are arabs, not Afghanis. His job probably would have been involved with interrogation....and that, he probably didn't want to do. With that in mind, this incident shows that islam can trump national or military loyalty. Either way, islam and his Palestinian origin played as big factors.

    Did Alexander make it stick? He moved an army through there and was dead less then ten years later, poisoned in a palace in Modern Iraq. His empire crumbled before his body was in the ground, unleashing a civil war that saw the creation of several successor states.

    The Jordanian kicked out the PLO, there are still three million Palestinians who live in Jordan.

    You're right on both counts, of course. Alexander had his own spin-doctors working on his rep, but that part of the world(wasn't even called Afghanistan then) was under Greek/Macedonian control for a couple hundred years after Alexander bit the dust. And yeah, King Hussein (Who I personally admired) slaughtered 30,000 PLO that didn't move their asses out of Jordan fast enough for him. Evidently, his idea was "move the assholes out and keep the good ones"......for which I don't blame anybody for thinking. There were a lot of very well educated palestinians that left for greener pastures and became model citizens from what is now Israel, and never made trouble for anybody except hamas or hezbulla.....if them.

    The United States has had great success 'occuping' countries over the years. Perhaps the 'authentic' Islamic law that the 'occupiers' are be killed is in part to blame.

    I do not hate Muslims. I know several and consider them to be friends. I am at war against POLITICAL Islam. Political Islam is one of the most (If not THE most) repressive systems of governance upon the earth today. It is no wonder that the Islamic world has such anger management problems.

    Seems odd to me that the palestinians have been in "camps" for 60 years and no M/E country (their muz brothers) has done anything to get them a land of their own, they just attack Israel and get their butts kicked. It also seems odd that the money the palestinians were charitably given ended up in numbered accounts under various arab leader's names instead of building a viable infrastructure to help the palestinians live a better life. That money could have been used to build schools, businesses and factories.     The muz are a pain in the ass to the whole world. They're lazy, ignorant, stupid, childish and most often, viciously murderous. The west scares hell out of them because the west, without doing anything but being western, is kicking islam's ass. Mark my words, in 50 years or less, islam will destroy itself or it will become very westernized.....muz "scholars" even say that....there is no other choice.     His "Palestinan" family was displaced because they refused to try and live with Jews. The Israelis threw no one out, nor did they even ask anyone to leave. The Muslims that remained lived for many years in peace and harmony and prospered along with the Jews in the economy they created. It was when the Infitada was begun that all that began to fall apart, because Muslims continue to let their hatred fester and refuse to recognize that despite their vast superiority in numbers, and the supposed help of Allah, they cannot defeat the tiny Jewish state.

    I would love to see all Muslims blocked from western countries, and all Muslims deported, and see our soldiers pulled out of Muslim countries, if it would guarantee there would be no more terrorist attacks anywhere in the world. Unfortunately, pulling our troops out would not guarantee that, because Muslims can't be trusted, and concessions to them only lead to more terrorist attacks and demands for more concessions. The ball's in the Muslim's court, it's up to you to show you can be trusted by taking action against the terrorists in your midst until all terrorism is stopped. Good luck with that.

    This is pure crap. The guy was afraid of deployment cause he is afraid of coming under fire. Wonder how he's going to deal with his execution when his trial is over. Muslims elsewhere have no problem killing hell out of other muslims....just read some of the blogs around....they kill them right in the main streets of Tehran, Baghdad, all over Afghanistan...and 8 million got killed, by each other, in the Iran/Iraq war. So that crap about "he didn't think muz should be up against muz" is a cover up for his cowardice. Notice that the puke picked a place and time where there would be no weapons or security to shoot up. I don't know if it was "really" about islam or not, but it's kind of fishy that islam comes up as a subject with too many incidents like this....there is SOME kind of connection....and if you don't think so....maybe take another look. There IS a connection and it means that muz can't be 100% trusted. Course that ain't "PC" is it and hanky-stompers might get upset if the military services start "profiling" or taking a serious closer look at personnel in the services that are muslim.

  • I'm frustrated almost beyond words with all of this. My husband was active duty & is now Reserves & we live a couple hours from Ft Hood. I cannot articulate anything with alot of detail because I have so much rolling around my brain, please bear with me!
    One thing that came to the forefront of my mind is--- Internment Camps during WWII. (notwithstanding the conditions) there was a REASON for this. Are we not at war? We're sickeningly PC in this day & age. Hurting a terrorist's feelings is considered torture! Look where it got us.

When listening to the comments of friends/co-workers/family of Hasan.....he whined about imagined slights & harassment from others, but he was the one to bring it up in the 1st place.     Never during my past two deployments to Iraq have I found an O-4, Major, Psychiatrist anywhere near the front lines. More likely, he would have been assigned to a larger Forward Operating Base where troops come to him. His fear of being deployed can only be interpreted as his complete inability to recognize reality. Also the claims made by his cousin that he was harrassed by fellow soldiers, is crap. There is a mechanism in place to deal with these types of things. Certainly a Major would understand that. Privates know the system, so were these claims true a Major would certainly know how to deal with this properly. A Major doesn't take flack from subordinates, he stomps their guts out and brings the pain through legal and punitive measures. I am so tired of hearing all the rhetoric. I hope he heals up quickly so we can get him in court and then on the fast train to a lethal injection induced dirt nap.
