Chicago Mayor Blames Ft. Hood Jihad Massacre on “America’s Love of Guns”

by Infidelesto on November 10, 2009 · Comments

daley“Unfortunately, America loves Guns. We love guns to a point where that uh we see devastation on a daily basis. You don’t blame a group.”

Why are liberals so retarded?

This came from Founding Bloggers:

The Mayor is using a straw-man argument that conveniently provides him with an opportunity to politicize the terrorist attack as part and parcel with America’s love of guns.

Mayor Daley, and other politicians, like to blame gun violence on the guns themselves because that is so much easier than admitting any inconvenient (politically incorrect) truths which might be revealed if they were to place blame where it belongs.

Kids murdering each other in the inner city? That’s because of guns, not the War On Drugs which turns poor children into black market drug distributing gang members.

Islamists murdering people while shouting Allah Akbar? That’s because of guns, not the Jihad being perpetrated globally against all so called “infidels”.

They blame guns because guns don’t vote.

Taking Mayor Daley at face value for a moment, is he seriously arguing for increased gun control on a military base? If there had been more guns around, this ticking Jihad bomb could have been put down a lot faster than he was.

  • What a piece of work this Shortshanks is. HE has an armed guard accompanying him and his family 24-7, no matter if they are in the city, out of the state or out of the country. Meanwhile, Chicago residents are forbidden by law from owning handguns, while criminals run wild and free in the streets. Over 2 dozen people were shot in Chicago this weekend, while a firefighter was arrested for using a gun to defend against a break in.

Is this asshole smoking crack? The reason this atrocity was possible is the fact that permit holding, armed individuals were not present to bring a stop to it. That has been true at each and every one of these events except one....at a church, where one of the congregation, armed, blew away a perp who was bent on mass murder at that church. The real answer is, permit holders should go armed everywhere as members of a standing militia, to use force if necessary, to keep the peace until police can arrive and take charge of the situation. I hear that the governor of Vermont wants to tax those persons that refuse to own a gun, because by that refusal, they intimate that they do not plan to be part of any state militia. I think he's right.

so we should blame alcohol and cars when someone drives drunk and kills someone?

what is it about personal responsibility that scares liberals so much?
  • SirWilhelm
Good point, many more people die in auto accidents every year, around 50k+, than die by guns. Do we talk about outlawing cars? We do have laws against drinking and driving, it seems the best we can do, but cars are obviously a necessary evil, why should guns be anything less? Guns are a tool, like any other, it's the people that use them that choose good or evil, and only people can make that choice. Liberals fear personal responsibility because they believe they know what's best for everyone else better than they know themselves. Which means they have no respect for the intellect of the "masses". Which is why they're elitists. Which is why they have armed bodyguards. How many of our representatives in Washington fit this "profile"? It's why they hate profiling so much.

"unveils expansion of Arabic language program"????? This is the problem! We now have home grown jihadists, how do we fight that?
  • SirWilhelm
You declare Islam a terrorist politcal organization, which it is, and outlaw it the same way Communism, Nazism, and Fascism are. Teaching Arabic isn't a problem in itself, we taught Russian at the height of the Cold War, you have to know your enemy after all. It's the politcally correct motives behind it that are the problem. And Islam is a political problem, it should be treated that way.
  • libertarianwoman
Unfortunately, Communism, Nazism and Fascism are NOT illegal. I believe there is a representative in Congress right now that is a self-proclaimed member of the Communist party. It's part of the First Amendment. And wasn't he talking about Arabic in the schools? We don't need it taught there. What we need is for the so-called peaceful Muslims to denounce those that even talk about jihad, violence against infidels. Do they have the equivalent of excommunication such as the Catholics? They are the only ones that can bring these people under control. But they don't, which takes away their credibility as well.
  • SirWilhelm
You're right, they're not illegal here. The Nazi Party was outlawed in Germany, and the Communist Party collapsed in the US, at least on the surface. There is no excommunication in Islam, just the opposite, apostates, anyone that tries to leave Islam, are killed. Another reason to believe there are no moderate Muslims.
  • This guy takes the cake!! That is THE most asinine remark I've seen in a long while. It's like he drew it out of a hat of "Alternative things to blame Ft Hood Massacre on". Holy cheez-moly man.....let's go ahead & blame it on America's love of McDonald's! Makes about as much sense. However, the guy IS a Chicago politician....nuff said.

So what he is saying is that even military people should have their 2nd ammedment rights infringed upon. If people in the military can not be trusted with guns then can the police? I find it funny up until this point Hassan was legally allowed to own a gun as he had yet to commit a crime preventing him from owning any. If we were to start taking guns before a crime was commited it becomes the equivelant of thoughtcrime. Thats what the good mayor wants a land where law abiding citizens are defenseless to those who could care less about the law.
