Those wacky islamists are at it again, trying to stifle free speech! This time they are trying to get the UN to amend a treaty to include defamation of religions as a crime. Guess which religion is the only one mentioned…

Islamic Nations Seek Legally Binding Way to Counter Religious ‘Defamation’

(CNSNews.com) – As support wanes for its campaign to secure controversial but non-binding “defamation of religion” resolutions at the United Nations, the Islamic bloc is pushing ahead with an alternative route – one that would carry the weight of international law.

The OIC is now attempting to have a key U.N. panel amend an existing international treaty to encompass supposedly religiously defamatory speech.

Unlike the resolutions, changing the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD) to cover religion would be legally enforceable.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) has for the past decade overseen the passage of non-binding resolutions at the U.N. General Assembly and human rights bodies.

Last week, the most recent effort passed in the General Assembly’s Third Committee, which deals with social, cultural, and humanitarian issues. It will go before the full General Assembly for a vote next month, but the committee vote indicates a continuing, measurable decline in support.

Eighty-one countries voted for the resolution, 55 opposed it and 43 abstained. The result showed less support for and more opposition against the resolution than for those introduced by the OIC over the last three years.

    No surprise, since the Quran commands the death of all who defame Islam, along with the spread of Sharia by violence, hence trying to get the U.N. to help them makes sense. I bet the West wish it had WWI and WWII back :)

    Here's a novel idea, to help ease islam into respectability and to cease the defamation of the 'the religion of peace'. Stop being a bunch backward playground bullies. Let the other kids play as well, you could learn some nice things about each other, like compassion and turning the other cheek when you believe that you've been offended. That if the big kid muhammed is so nice, tolerate and so very cool too know, then he won't care if others will not join his gang. And if other wish to leave because they have grown tired of the games you play, let them, surely it's their lose. Taking away from others, like their toys because they look like their having fun and stopping playtime like music and kiss chase with the girls is not the way to make friends. Yes, I know it will be hard and that there may be some crying involved as I know your gang, the 'muslims' like living in the 7th century but believe me the 21st century is really not that scary. It can be a very nice and safe place to live, where the civilised nowadays like their women to be whole without all that genital slice and dicing and lots and lots of people have become rather attached to their heads. You can rely on others to do the jobs that their trained for. Like landing planes at runways and not mistakenly flying them into buildings and where some strange individuals wearing white coats have made some weird stuff called medicines so you will no longer have to drink that yucky camel urine for your aliments.
    We understand that you will need help with adjusting but trying to make others like you more with a silly little decree (I know it's a hard word for you to understand, just ask an adult for help) and not say nasty things about your leader and his gang is really not the right way to do it. What's going to happen if that other gang the 'UN' says OK, will you really do what the the decree says. What will you do when those other nasty gangs like the 'Jews' from borough of Israel are horrible to you and take your guns away so you can't play war anymore with your friends from the borough of Palestine. If you get the 'UN' to do what you want them to do you will no longer be able to insult them with names that some of you in your gang like to call them. Kind of like throwing all your toys out of the pram and then crying because you can't play with them anymore.

    This should be easy enough to dismiss, since a religion is not a race. But since it concerns the UN, I won't be suprised if Islam gets it's way in this case.
