Saudi Arabia: 75 Year old woman to get 40 lashes for breach of “sex segregation laws”

no words…***Shakes head in disgust***

news_091215_lashesSaudi Arabia is set to punish 75-year-old woman with 40 lashes, imprisonment and deportation for being in the company of a young man she once breastfed.

A 75-year-old woman is set to be given 40 lashes, imprisoned for four months and deported to Syria after Saudi religious police caught her in the company of a young man she once breastfed and who claimed to have been bringing her bread.

Khamisa Mohammed Sawadi, 75, and two younger men, known only as Hadyan and Fahad, were found guilty of violating a sex-segregation law known locally as khilwa.

Sawadi has claimed that the sex segregation law should not apply as she breastfed Fahad when he was a child.

The international human rights group Amnesty International has called on Saudi Arabia to stay the sentence.

“This punishment amounts to torture and extreme human degradation,” Lamri Chirouf, a Saudi Arabia researcher for Amnesty International told The Media Line. “It’s in direct contrast to international human-rights standards that protect human dignity.”

“These people have not done anything wrong beyond being together,” he said. “This is their private life and it shouldn’t constitute a crime under international law. It’s as simple as that.”

“Whenever they catch people together who are not immediate relatives, they punish them,” Chirouf added. “The problem in Saudi Arabia is that the criminal justice system is very secretive. Cases of floggings and amputations happen all the time but they are rarely reported.”

Don't know where to put it.

"Law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual." Thomas Jefferson

Sacred human rights (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness - private property honestly earned through labor) trump both secular and "religious" human laws. Islamic Sharia (Mosque/State) Law is not sacred when it destroys sacred human rights. Sacred human rights-destroying Church/State laws during Medieval times were no exception.

God save the American Revolution: Sacred human rights (Declaration) secured by secular law (Constitution) derived from "We the People."

This is a perfect example of why we have seperation of church and state. Islam is the only religion in the world today that insists on participating directly in the administration of government and justice, and this is the result.

Like I've said, islam give honest retards a bad name. There is some real honest-to-God (no that moon guy allah) serious brain damage in islam.

    Muslims are BEASTLY CREATURES.

They should be ALL castrated and sterilized for the sake of the rest of mankind.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Obama bow to the King of Saudi Arabia a while ago?

    Beejj,

Every time I think of his pathetic display of groveling, I become more infuriated. When he's not sticking his butt out for the Saudi King, he is busy gushing with praise for Islam. My favorite...so far:

"America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings".

I don't know about you, but those are the first three words that spring to mind whenever I think of Islam...progress, tolerance and dignity.

They are going to beat the hell out of this poor woman in the name of Islam. What, I wonder, will be the righteous punishment for the two men involved?

I think the fatwa regarding breastfeeding is unclear. It states that a "family bond" is formed after this has occurred at least five times, but I don't think it counts in her case because it was not current??? Is there anything more sick and depraved than the Religion of Peace?

Less than one year into his presidency - it is hard to imagine how Obama will further humiliate us with his outrageous behavior.

    That's great,Christine.
I read in a newspaper here that the men were to receive half the punishment of the poor old crone.
Kind of goes with the woman's word being worth half that of a "man's".

Thanks for bringing that up Beejj. I want to state loud and clear, that the monkey might live in the White House (temporarily), but he'll never be my president. The only thing he does well is make an entire nation wish Bush was back in town. He's a total failure.
You know Sarah Palin was offered $10 million dollars to pose nude in playboy? Michelle Obama was offered the same deal by National Geographic.

You know Black American soldiers who got the same bullets aimed at them in WWII, served in segregated divisions and were called monkeys by their fellow White American soldiers. We were still segregated in Korea, where my father served. After they went to war overseas they had to war at home to get out of the back of the bus. Did you know that White servicemen were so successful in calling us monkeys that the French and German women asked to see our Black soldiers' tails?Do you have a screw loose? Is calling Michelle Obama a monkey a continuation of this tradition? Were you just too witty to call her a nigger?
I support Sarah Palin. I wonder how happy she would be to be the backdrop of your smarmy, racist remarks. You have interesting and authentic insights into military action, but I don't want to wade through your crap to get at them. Do you understand me, or is it all monkey talk to you? I understand you. You are a man... acting like a jackass.

All men (and women) are created equal before the law. Skin color is morally irrelevant, but political ideology (especially totalitarian political ideology) is not irrelevant. I oppose Barak Obama because he is an anti-American combo Marxist/Islamist, but his skin color comes from God.

Red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight; Jesus loves the little children of the world.

: ) Good morning. I have been meaning to ask you if there were a book or two that you would recommend that would give a good background to American political theory. I was trained in high school and college by revisionists and so classical American political thought is scanty in my background. I had one conservative government tutor in college who was brilliant. I remember the first day I went to his tutorial, we discussed abortion. Although I was and am pro life, I had bought into a really stupid line of thinking. I finally told him that abortion is not really a political question and each person should think for himself. I remember that he smiled and said that who lives and who dies is a quintessentially political question, as political as whether a slave is 2/3 of a man. This answer silenced me and my respect for him was the beginning of thinking conservatively.
Yes, Jesus does love the little children of the world. It is good to be reminded. Merry Christmas!

The best place to start is with the American Declaration of Independence, and then the American Constitution, and then the words of the American Founding Fathers themselves. Only after reading and studying that would I recommend reading books.

Infidelesto has a good collection of quotations from our Founding Fathers - maybe he will email them to you. I consider the principles of the American to be universal because I view our Revolution as first and foremost a revolution in sacred, unalienable human rights. Our revolution is secondarily one of the republican (small r) form of human government; government which must secure those rights and never become destructive of them; government which is dependent upon and controlled by "We the People;" not people dependent upon and thereby controlled by government. "We the People" means majority rule (amendable law - Constitution) through representative government, but the law must be subject to un-amendable, sacred, unalienable human rights (Declaration) - Life, Liberty, Private Property honestly earned through labor - Pursuit of Happiness.

I apologize. I still dispise that prick in the White House and I think Michell is a totally commited racist bitch (she reminded me immediately of Angela Davis). There is lots of racism in this country, and as a former resident of the Detroit area, I experienced a lot of it.....pointed at me by black people!!
I don't like it either so I get what you're saying. If you're as sharp as I think you are, you know where I'm coming from.
  • Bronwyn
Apology accepted and yes, I know where you are coming from. I got it from my own as well. I was ostracized for not being Black enough I belonged to a ballet company and enjoyed playing classical music. My grandfather was half American Indian but I do not know the nation. My kids are Irish, German, American Indian and Black. No one knows what they are to look at them. We have gotten it from all sides. I had a Black Muslim try to "convert" me in front of my blonde, blue- eyed husband. I don't mind discussing the fatal stupidity that I believe Black Americans have fallen into .It is embarrassing to watch the adulation of Obama among Blacks. I personally believe he could care less about the real advantage of Black Americans or any Americans for that matter. Every time I see the picture of him bowing like Step and Fetch It to the Saudi Arabian "massa", I want to turn my face to the wall. So, I understand. Let's forget it.
  • Tonto
Part Apache, part Pole. Got it from both sides too. Obama is totally into "what is good for Obama" and the "stylin' and profilin' thing". That's why he does every single photo op possible. He could care less about anything else....also it's very obvious he's a puppet. George Soros got elected President, not Obama. You nail it when you talk about the fatal stupidity....but not all. Come South to Tennessee.......it's a different world than up North.
    It's fogot. Thanks.
