Enemy Combatant Underwear-Terrorist being charged in US civilian court

The scum should be transferred to Gitmo and interrogated in whatever way Obama and Eric Holder will still allow.  He doesn’t deserve Miranda, he doesn’t deserve some high-priced ACLU lawyer, he doesn’t deserve the rights of an American citizen.  He’s an enemy combatant, a war criminal, an Islamic terrorist scumbag that should be treated just like those committing acts of war on the battlefield.

The Washington Post reported yesterday that “Abdulmutallab was charged Saturday in U.S. District Court for Eastern Michigan with attempting to destroy an aircraft and with placing a destructive device onboard a plane, each of which is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. U.S. District Judge Paul D. Borman informed Abdulmutallab of the charges during a hearing at the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, where he is being treated at the burn unit.”

So a maximum of 40 years in prison, and perhaps the chance to get time off for good behavior. Of course, we also don’t get to interrogate him to find out who he was working with and what other plots are out there. If he were treated as an enemy combatant and transferred to military commission system, we could use Army Field Manual techniques without Miranda (not as effective as enhanced techniques, of course, but much better than standard police practice).

We could use his non-Mirandized statements against him in military commissions, so long as the statements were not forcibly coerced and were otherwise reliable. Instead, it’s three squares a day, the best legal defense the ACLU can provide, and maybe the chance for parole before the kids he was trying to kill on that plane even make it out of college.

This is a global war on Islamic terror even though the politically correct police won’t dare call it that. We’re fighting this battle with two hands behind our backs, trying to be politically correct with every move we make, which is only going to lead to more attacks, and more civilians deaths.

What a mockery we’ve made of our national security all thanks to Obama and his cronies.

Oh and by the way, in another act of politically correct bravery,  we learn that we were warned by this Islamic nutjob’s father long before this happened but our genius security personnel said the  information did not warrant placing the accused on a “no-fly” list.

    Where are the almost 300 counts of attempted premeditated murder? When holder finishes with this we will be lucky if its not reduced to parading without a permit or j-walking and then helping the terrorist sue us for millions. I agree with Janet - the system worked -but not the one she is talking about- The one where we are responsible for our own safety and have a duty to stop criminals -the one they are trying to beat out of us. God bless those who did not do the PC thing but did the right thing in stopping him.

    The watch system certainly failed and they need to be ruthless in their method to ensure it neither happens again nor that those who failed it do not learn for it.

    The excuse from the US was that the basic list is half a million and unless there is additional reason, those on that list do not get updated into more critical lists which stop air travel etc. The British said that he was put on a list and refused further visitors. Now, the failure is simple, if one is added to another list, then there should have been an automatic upgrade - thus the failure is the normal links and passing of such details between two very well versed and critical allies. The failure could have been on either side of the Atlantic.
