Obama blames Gitmo for Al Qaeda’s rise in the Arabian Peninsula

What a jerk.  Blaming Bush for anything and everything.

BBC - US President Barack Obama has said a Yemen-linked plot to bomb an airliner will not prevent the closure of the US prison at Guantanamo Bay.

The US has suspended the repatriation of Yemeni prisoners held there in the wake of the plot, claimed by a Yemen-based al-Qaeda offshoot.

Nearly half of those remaining at the detention centre at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, are from Yemen…

“It was always our intent to transfer detainees to other countries only under conditions that provide assurances that our security is being protected,” Mr Obama said on Tuesday, during a briefing on security reviews ordered after the airliner plot.

“With respect to Yemen in particular, there’s an ongoing security situation which we have been confronting for some time, along with our Yemeni partner.”

But Mr Obama said the camp would still be shut, “in a manner that keeps the American people safe and secure”.

“Make no mistake, we will close Guantanamo prison, which has damaged our national security interests and become a tremendous recruiting tool for al-Qaeda,” he said.

“In fact, that was an explicit rationale for the formation of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.”

Memo to Obumbler: If it weren’t for Bush policy at Gitmo and the interrogation techniques used (That were completely legal and not so called “torture”), That major LA plot would have been carried out without our knowledge.  You and your cronies don’t want to admit that Gitmo and enhanced interrogation SAVED hundreds if not thousands of American lives.

    I have not seen one terrorist say that he became a jihadist because of Gitmo. Jihad is always against the "occupiers" and "oppressors", occupiers of Islamic terrority, Israel, and Iraq for the most part, and oppressors of Muslim principles and beliefs, even in non-Muslim countries. The only reason I can see for closing Gitmo is eliminating a symbol that liberals see as representing a War on Terror in order to deal with terrorists as cirminals while giving them the rights of US citizens. There is no other reason that makes sense or that is supported by the evidence.

As I just described it to you, I know he is doomed to be a one term President and I do believe that for the first time in 150 years Blacks will be coming on board to the Conservative Party of Lincoln, the many responsible from insuring their freedom, and they are welcomed. No longer can African Americans simply vote for the person of color, but will in fact begin to hear what Martin Luther King said, "Do not judge a man by the color of his skin, but by the content of his character" and what John F Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what YOU can do for your country". The tide is changing and we will all better off having true African American conservatives along side Conservatives, because Blacks have always been Conservative, Spiritual and have contributed in countless ways to AMERICA! There is a new day coming! When this happens en mas we will not be riduculed by the Liberal Press or anyone else, because we will be stronger than the Liberal Press, and stronger than other misguided Liberals Black and White, Yellow and Red. This is not an matter of will it happen, it is HAPPENING NOW! OBAMA may have been our greatest threat and our best teacher of what socialism will do to a country, because once a Liberty is gone, it will never be replaced, and if allowed to continue will steal the very Liberty and Freedom this country was founded upon.     Blaming America for acting in self-defense is more than irrational; it is treason - this gives aid and comfort to our totalitarian Islamic enemies - the collective Ummah - the Islamic Borg.

    To what lengths would Adolph Hitler gone to have President Roosevelt make this statement during 1943? I think he would have spent a large portion of Nazi Germany's national treasure and snuffed out the lives of anyone who stood in the way of this public announcement in the United States:
