ISLAMABAD, Pakistan— A house in Karachi where militants had appeared to be storing ammunition for a planned terrorist strike was destroyed in a deadly explosion early Friday morning, police officials said.

Seven people were killed in the blast, which rocked the working-class Baldia neighborhood on the western edge of Karachi. Amid the rubble, the police and rescue workers found a large cache of weapons including suicide vests, automatic rifles and grenades.

Who cares?the only difference between various Gods throughout the ages is that both christianity and Islam were preceded by a "prophet".
Clearly Moped saw that the Jesus paradigm had been successful and copied it.
There have been several others since who were less successful.
What confounds me is that people who claim to talk to God in the modern day are regarded as mad;whereas more ancient
God conversationalists are taken more seriously by millions of people.
There are some people at this time trying to give Odin a makeover.

What goes around, comes around. This is the feel good story of the day..Guess their demon-god didn't approve of their work, Huh?
  • cooter99
Last I checked their god was the same as the Christian god.
  • hell no it's not the same God. Who you kidding?
  • cooter99
Are you suggesting that a polytheistic paradigm applies?
  • Beejj
Are you asking if he believes there's more than one God? Yes? Then why not ask it? Polytheistic paradigm, my ass!
  • cooter99
I can't ask a question using polysyllabic words? Simplicity is good, but I prefer a more complete thought.
  • Beejj
Ah, you are one of THOSE! One who thinks he reveals more complete thought by calling a spade a manually-employed earth moving implement. I suggest you read some Winston Churchill.
  • no of course not. Just cause they're both monotheistic doesn't mean they
adhere to the same God. The God of Islam could very well be described in
similar words as you would describe Satan. Just take a look at it's
    Prophet.

It is commonly held that the Abrahamic religions all worship the same God. The Qu'ranic God is described much the same as the Biblical God. If 1.5 billion people believe in the Islamic point of view and 2 billion people believe in the Christian point of view, how does one work out which is correct?
  • Uh no, the Koranic God does not preach the same values as the Christian God.
Sorry, but they couldn't be more opposite. Again, to get an idea, look at
the Jesus vs Muhammed. Compare their values, their lives, their rhetoric,
their example. Islam and Christianity may both only believe in a single
God, but the way God is described for each couldn't be more different.

    Uh no.

God described in the Qur'an if anything has shown and returned the correct description back to its Abrahamic roots as shown in the Old Testiment and not whitewashed, edited, modified by translations and the opinions of centuries of clerics (with or without the best of intentions). It is well documented that changes to texts were done during translations of New and Old Testiments was done on the basis of Vatican and other schools.

The Qur'an describes God as "the Merciful, Compassionate and Beneficent" as is recited everyday at least 23 times by Muslims that pray five times a day. I am 100 per cent certain that if Christ was asked about those three words he would have said "of God".

Trying to guage the "values" of Prophets is rather a pointless excercise as well, considering it is clearly spelt out in all three Abrahamic Faiths that each Prophet had differing goals and objectives to deliver unto mankind. Mohammed, if anything, is like the Qur'an, returning to Abrahamic roots and I suggest you read up on Abraham and Moses and then do your comparison to Christ.

No, we are all talking about a religion based on worship of the one same God and the only valid difference is that Muslims believe in the the Prophets of Judaism and Christianity, Christians believe only those of Judaism and Jews reject those of Christ and Mohammed. That is all, to believe otherwise is putting yourself in a very small and fringe minority. To disagree with the divinity or acceptance of the teachings, is not the issue, it is the subject of the signularity of the same God that is the subject, which almost unanimously is considered undeniable.

Is Allah(the useless)the same as the Christian God?
Oh yes he is say some Muslims and Christians!

Oh no he isn't say other Muslims and Christian!.
    Yes he(she)is;noshe (he)isn't! ad nauseum.
Futile silly nonsense since their is no evidence for either!
As an outsider I prefer the Christian version;since Allah is such a bad tempered wrathful bastard.

    But then again;who cares?
  • Solkhar
    'But then again;who cares?'

Most of the world cares, it is your right to believe in God or not, that is for you, but there is another thing when you presume that most people think like you which they do not. The vast majority of this planet simply believes in God in some form or fashion.

I like your reference to who believes what though, it reminds me of an old Dutch story about people from Limburg whom lived on either side of het Valken - the hill there - and all put it in their legends and claimed ownership, described it differently. Then Charlemagne came and was looking for three hills and found it was the same. That is my point!

Both gods are omniscient, omnipotent, and all-merciful. Both have great love for people and life. Both demand faith in God and only God(represented as the Trinity in Christianity which is said to be one and the same). Islam denies the trinity. Christian God has human form while Islamic God has a form unlike anything else. In the important aspects, of which I don't consider shape to be one, they are remarkably similar. They both hold love and forgiveness as very important. Now lets look at Jesus and Mohammed. Both men claimed they were prophets of God. It is from these two and their peers and followers that many of the writings and ideals of both these religions come from. If there was one true God don't you think he/she/it would have clarified things in the intervening thousands of years, thereby preventing the untold number of atrocities committed in the name of both of these religions. If God really cares about us that is. Maybe the deists have it right.
