Hugo Chavez: I’ll seize any business that raises prices

by Infidelesto on January 10, 2010 · Comments

You can’t even say it’s socialist anymore.  It’s pure fascism, plain and simple. It’s also unfathomable that hollywood elites and liberal academics love this guy.  It says a lot about the liberal left in this country.

Obama and his buddy Chavez yucking it up

Jan. 10 (Bloomberg) — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said that businesses have no reason to raise prices following the devaluation of the bolivar and that the government will seize any entity that boosts its prices.

Chavez said he’ll create an anti-speculation committee to monitor prices after private businesses said that prices would double and consumers rushed to buy household appliances and televisions. The government is the only authority able to dictate price increases, he said.

“The bourgeois are already talking about how all prices are going to double and they’re closing their businesses to raise prices,” Chavez said in comments on state television during his weekly “Alo Presidente” program. “People, don’t let them rob you, denounce it, and I’m capable of taking over that business.”

Freedom for large businesses to exploit a country whose people have very little to give isn't freedom, it's an aberration and perversion of freedom .Also, very little shouldn't be nationalized. Unless of course you want to use the American medical care model, which is currently killing more people than a postal worker on meth. Defending this kind of 'freedom' means white collar criminals are exempt from the law. Do I call my government a dictatorship for arresting me when I commit a crime?

I assume you're not a large business owner. If you are, that's all good, I can understand your perspective. If not, I fail to see why you can defend these idiots so much and call a government a dictatorship for doing it's job. If a government's job is to sit back and shut the fuck up, that's really just anarchy. Unless the great democratic blood-suckers are sending you a check, try to understand how many people they hurt. As Machiavellian as Chavez seems to you, he speaks for his people. I don't want to know what a right-winger would do in a situation like that, but I'm more willing to assume it would be even more 'hate-rhetoric'. He criticizes the international community and defames it. Bush called it an Axis of Evil and launched cruise missiles at his 'enemies', sending people to die for his dick-measuring contest. Hooray for the king of double standards. Call yourself an infidel? You're just another kind of fundamentalist
  • Wow, you really are a Commie. How'd that work out for you throughout history?

Lie after Lie after Lie. I'm glad you want to be a slave to the state. You deserve it. You don't like big business but you like big state, big gov't and total control over society by the state? You think people in China have freedom? You think Venezuelans have freedom? You think Muslims living under Islamic totalitarianism have FREEDOM?

You are a leftist Marxist to the CORE aren't you? You are an enemy to humanity.

America is one of the few places on earth we still have some sense of individual freedom. And even now we're losing it to insane marxists like you. The Democrat party thinks just like you do. It's SICK.

You excuse totalitarianism by saying government issimply "doing their job". Are you a freakin joke or what? Have you read an OUNCE of world history? Or are you just a pawn of the marxist, leftist, commie, socialist, whatever you want to call it "elite" who think Stalin and Mao had the right idea, just messed up in the process and hopefully someone else will come along and create the communist "utopia" you've always dreamed of. Only this time if you can avoid MURDERING MILLIONS in the process that may help your cause.

Wow. Right wing much? South America is dealing with rampant poverty, any measure to correct that should be welcomed. As for the businesses that aren't getting to rob people anymore, our collective hearts weep.

Also, buy a dictionary. Fascism is ultranationalist hate rhetoric. A right wing ultranationalist hate rhetoric. Clearly, you're not just ignorant abou political leanings, you're also struggling with directions. This is a man trying to empower his people and he gets an offensive label. Has the giant rubber stamp with the word SOCIALIST been worn so thin that now we need a new word to defame leaders?

" South America is dealing with rampant poverty, any measure to correct that should be welcomed "

Not "ANY". Brazil is doing an admirable progress in diminishing its poverty WITHIN THE LAW.

Our president, Luiz Inácio "Lula" da Silva is a leftist, former Steel Worker's Union President,
friend of the Castro's Nepotist Dinasty, but he acts WITHIN THE LAW.

He just CAN'T do whatever he wants. His pen won't do any magic, for he'll always need the
    Congress to govern the country.

Clearly, Brazil is quite above the rest of the Latin American countries, with the sole
exception of CHILE, in regard of the RULE OF LAW.

Hugo Chávez demolished the Venezuelan Democracy and its institutions. Argentina's
Kirchner's couple is in the same path.

Brazil's Lula is a PRAGMATIST. He's pro-job creation, pro-business, pro- rich and for
the promotion of the poor to the middle class.

He's got a whopping 82 % of approval rate because of this attitude.
Hugo Chávez is just another dictator who enjoys the benefits of having
    OIL.

He could be easily be an arab dictator. He acts pretty much in the same way.

  • Wow. Right wing much?

LOL, enjoy your failure of socialist dictator nationalizing every singe
aspect of the economy. Hope you enjoy your freedoms. Oh wait, you have none
    left.

    Also, buy a dictionary.

Wow, how insightful. I suddenly feel compelled to go buy one now that you
said it. You don't think Chavez spews ultranationalist hate rhetoric? You
gotta be kidding me. Go back to the corner and put your dunce hat back on.

Clearly, you're not just ignorant abou political leanings, you're also
    struggling with directions.

I'm not the one who's ignorant. Clearly you don't understand the various
levels and roles of government. See this.
