Britain: Muslims threaten terrorism over ban of radical Islamist group

by Infidelesto on January 13, 2010 · Comments

The appeasers, pacifists and multiculturalists are being put to the test. They finally had the guts to ban the group, but will they back off now or follow through?

Islam4UK spokesman Anjem Choudary leaves a press conference in Millbank Studios in London. The radical Islamic group, which is to be banned this week, had planned to stage a march through Wootton Bassett, where the remains of British troops are received, to honor Muslims who have been killed in the conflict in Afghanistan. ISLAMIC extremists warned last night that banning their group could lead to terror attacks in Britain.

Members of Islam4UK said there would be 7/7-style outrages if stopped from venting their frustrations.

Exiled hate preacher Omar Bakri Muhammad, founder of the group’s predecessor al- Muhajiroun, warned: “We saw what happened in London with 7/7 after al-Muhajiroun was banned and the same thing could happen again. The Muslim youth will feel they have not got a voice.”

And Islam4UK spokesman Anjem Choudary, who pledged to get round the ban, called the move the “biggest favour” from the British Government.

He predicted: “You will push people underground. After that we will have no control over the youth. This is not a threat, this is a warning of what possibly could transpire if you do not allow Muslims to practise their own faith.”

The claims came as Home Secretary Alan Johnson finally banned Islam4UK, which threatened to parade in Wootton Bassett, where residents line streets to honour Brit soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

Islam4UK was outlawed under previous names Al Ghurabaa and The Saved Sect but retitled itself. Now Islam4UK, Call to Submission, Islamic Path, and the London School of Sharia will also be banned from tomorrow, with members facing 10 years in jail.

Mr Johnson said: “Proscription is a tough but necessary power to tackle terrorism and is not a course we take lightly.”

Inayat Bunglawala, of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: “The overwhelming majority of British Muslims find al-Muhajiroun and its offshoots highly divisive and frankly loathsome, so there won’t be any Muslims shedding tears over the proscription.”

If the ban is real, then great news.

If they attempt to do attacks, they will be probably caught as they will under more and more scuritiny and the positive side of attacks (if you can call it that) is that more and more sympathisers and hidden members will be identified and even more sources, links and connections.

Let us all hope that this is the start of the end of stupid liberal tolerance for the intolerable.

    Bravo, Solkhar.
  • Lets hope the Brits have the guts to enforce these changes. Its better late then never for the Brits to crack down on these radical groups that are hell bent on taking full control of the UK and imposing their Sharia laws on all brits. The threat to march through Bassett, and the recent arrest of 6 that had planned teo kidnap and then behead on film a Brit soldier, may have been the straw that broke the camels back. I'd also hope the politicians here in America wake up and realize that CAIR and other Muslim groups are no better then those pushing for Jihad in the UK. I have little hope as long as Obama and his socialist attorney general Eric Holder are running the show.
  • Firstly - love the new look of your site! First time I've visited since you've revamped it; it's fab :)

    To address the post:

Yes, it's fairly typical. Finally our 'government' (I use the term in the loosest sense possible) act, and already several pundits are condemning the ban, arguing it will 'just bring more publicity to Anjem Choudary'.

The government only acted because of immense public pressure, not least a group on Facebook protesting Choudary's antics.

I'm really glad this group has been banned - but they'll just reappear in another guise, like they always do.

I suspect that some other 'insult' or excuse for attacks would occur anyway.

The problem with this article is the source. 'The Star'. The worst of the worst in British journalism. Not at all renowned for any real, truthful or relevant reporting unless you want to know how many times a day a certain celebrity has a crap etc or what is happening in the zombiefying 'soaps' broadcast on terrestrial TV. It's celebrity big brother time here and 'The Star' will devote the first 8,9 or even 10 pages each day without fail to the shenanigans of the Z list householders. A true example of a comic calling itself a newspaper that is designed by idiots for idiots.
  • It doesn't take the Star to understand what Islam4UK is preaching. Reports
of them threatening anyone who speaks out or acts against them is typical of
the violent Islamist. Why are you surprised?

Ah, another critic of a source that doesn't address the issue, with not a word about the article itself, I wonder what your agenda is? If you don't like this source, why don't you recommend another? Does The Earth Times and Sky News fall under the category where you place the Star? I found they both carried the same article. In re-reading the article, I find it very factual, and fairly well balanced, with no hint of an agenda from the reporter. What do you find objectionable about it?
  • SirWilhelm
Three cheers for Britain! It's great to see them start to throw offf some of their dhimmitude! I hope they can keep it up.
