An interesting bit from the Geert Wilders Trial

Today via NRO, “The Islamization of the World”

Metronieuws has an interview with Afshin Ellian, a witness for the defense in the Geert Wilders trial in Amsterdam. If you don’t read Dutch, there’s an English translation here. (I’ve modified it slightly, because I think he missed a nuance here and there.) Here’s the key passage:

You said the Wilders Trial reminds you of justice in your country of origin, Iran. Is that not somewhat exaggerated?

“The Netherlands, of course, is not comparable with Iran, but it’s about perception. If you cannot say that Islam is a backward religion and that Mohammed is a criminal, then you are living in an Islamic country, my friend, because there also you cannot say such things. Here I’m free to say that Christ was a faggot* and Mary was a whore, but apparently I should stay off of Mohammed.”

Indeed it does feel like we’re watching a trial from Iran or some other country where we’ve seen multiple times people being put on trial because they insulted Mohammed. This trial is critical in establishing the norm in western Europe with regards to criticism of Islam.

He goes on:

We are making Islam the de facto established church of the western world. And, lest you think this near parodic prostration before Islamic supremacism is a purely European phenomenon, read the official whitewash of Fort Hood, which is one of the most disgusting and contemptible documents ever produced by the US military. The families of the dead should be furious at its craven evasions.

News from the Geert Wilders trial is that Wilders is calling Mohammed Bouyeri(the man who murdered Theo van Gogh)as a witness.
Provided that the prosecution don't get to this madman(to coach him)this could be a master stroke.
Bouyeri has already stated that the Koran gave him a mandate to murder van Gogh ;meaning that the defense advocate should have no difficulty in winding him up.
(He's almost certainly too thick to realise that any shouting about murder being authorised by the Koran will result in underwriting Wilders'claims)
Leon de Winter writing for The Times online says that the trial is now not about Wilders' right to free speech ;but rather the question as to whether Koranic passages are akin to Mein Kampf passages;exhorting hate.
De Winter is of the opinion that the prosecution should never have been brought .
(It was at first rejected ;but Dutch leftiesand Muslims insisted; and he was eventually charged)
De Winter points out(as I did)that for Wilders it's a no lose situation;meaning that if found guilty there will be a
    backlash of the Dutch electorate.
If he wins?then we have the scrumptious prospect of the Koran being adjudged a terror manual and possibly proscribed!!
The hubris of the lefties and the Muslims may result in this centuries most exotic own goal.
My Pavlovian reflexes are going into overdrive!

That actually is old news, Wilder's lawyer said that they would do that, plus others, months ago.

Just as much is old news is that the prosecutors said that any such statement by Bouyeri that the Qur'an gives him permission will be easily argued as a radical intepretation by that man and "as well know" radical violent groups. Such a response will be backed up with media statements by the late Moshe Kahane (whom was also killed by a radical Muslim - to prove that "hate begets hate", the US and Candian banned JDL statements and even radical Dutch calvanist preist Jap van Linkett who says the Bible demands hate, vilification and criminalisation of homosexual and that if one gets killed, he would not condemn it.

One side of the story only results in one side of reality.

Leon de Winter informs us that the prosecution are trying to get Bouyeri struck off the witness list(for obvious reasons)
Furthermore there are 200 plus foriegn visitors with their new Dutch friends there to cheer Geert on.
Unlike you deWinter thinks that this outrageous show trial may propel Geert to the PMship.
If that happens Ishall return to my former home town to celebrate.
I don't suppose you'll be joining me as JH has threatened to attend?

Leon de Winter is referring to the obvious legal tactics that all lawyers on this planet do, just like the attempt to use Bouyeri is a tactic and just as much that if he speaks, de Winter will try and have his questions limited to only certain areas. It is also just as much a tactic to claim it is a show-trial, like Berlisconi's lawyers are using to avoid his trials, the simple truth is that all politicians will use that excuse no matter what the charge is. That is why we have courts, to determine if it is or not, like the charges in France against the former PM was thrown out because it was a scam.

As for 200 plus foreign visitors - that is the round sum of 2000 far-right activists, how about the 3 million Nederlanders whom are hoping for a swift end to Wilder's career, let alone the 10 million whom quietly disagee with his policies and say he deserves the trial, in sharp contrast the remainder whom do not care but do not think he should be on trial and those that support him.

As for Geert as PM, that is as likely as Queen Beatrix wearing a burqa - zilch. You should know your old country enough to know that it is IMPOSSIBLE for three very simple reasons. 1) his popularity is in local elections, not national which he cleverly avoids, because the defeat will show the real lack of support he has. 2) other parties refuse to deal with him so he has to win a majority outright, which as for the above point is impossible and 3) even if he had a majority the Constitution says that a government must be invited by the Queen whom has already stated that she would refuse to ask him and will happily ask for other parties to form a minority or large coalition and if that fails will even force the country into endless new elections until another government is formed.

No I will not bother, giving him any value is moraly repugnant, he needs to be found guilty and banned from politics and public office here and in EU under the laws and then he can fade away and just be another fringe radical joining Spencer and Gellar on their bandwagon of bigotry.

If you read the papers from back home you will also note that if the current laws are inadequate with holes in it for Wilders to slip through, both the main three parties have said that they will rush through new laws to fix them and then bring him back to trial. The liberal party said they do not like such an act but in this matter will leave it to each individual member to make a conscious vote. Either way it is now or six months later, the man is soon to be poltical history as a one of those embarassing parts in the story of my country.

If Wilders is found guilty then Duch jurisprudence will become the laughing stock of civilised Europe.
Freedom if it means anything is telling people that which they do not want to hear(George Orwell).
Wilders is guilty of nothing other than telling the truth.
If telling the truth is a statutory crime ?;then almost everybody here would be prosecuted!
And if Queen Beatrix were to deny Wilders the mandate he had won(if he wins);then it's possible that holland might become a republic as any clear thinking Hollander might view such an action as beyond her mandate.
Curiously it turns out that Jordan has demanded his extradition??
De PVV may be the author of a sea change in European politics in which cultural relativists and their corrupting
influence will undergo a much overdue atrophy.
I wonder in several years from now there'll be a monument to Geert in the middle of the Dam Plein.
I feel your prediction that Geert is destined for oblivion may be wide of the mark!
The insects of Islam have already started their insidious threats by voicing retaliation should Geert be found not guilty.
The Dutch electorate ought to grasp the nettle and tell them to fuck off.(Rot op! I believe is the Dutch equivalent.)

Damn its hard getting logged in here. I can't even find the spot where it says "login". So, I'll post this as guest.

It's a war of infiltration and attrition. Muslims are infiltrating Western countries, refusing to assimilate, then turning the political and justice systems to their advantage. Allah bragged about being the Best Deceiver and his followers are doing their damned best to emulate him. "But they (the Jews) were deceptive, and Allah was deceptive, for Allah is the best of deceivers (Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru al-makireena)! S. 3:54; cf. 8:30". Only those that have something to hide fear criticism, and Mohammed has lots to hide.
  • Solkhar
Very sad there SirW, your attempt to interpret what you obviously have no understanding is more of a reflection on what "you wish" rather than any resemblance to what that sura was intended to.

Muslims are migrating to the west for better economic opportunities, that radicals followed them is the issue and how western governments let those radicals not only in but having a platform to talk.

Your exagerations, generalizations are the stuff that myths are made of there....
  • SirWilhelm
Here's what I've figured out for myself. Islam is a warrior cult. Warriors gain glory from dieing in battle. Muslims claim they love death more than life, and that they go to paradise if they die in battle. The rest of the Islamic system is designed to support the warriors. Each male is allowed 4 wives, and can divorce them and replace them if they don't produce, making losses in battle easy to replace and actually leading to increasing strength of numbers. If anyone tries to leave Islam, become apostate, they can be killed, just like deserters from any army. The result is an Islamic army, and an army is the ultimate way of resolving political issues or of imposing your will. The warrior cult is wrapped in a belief system that is called a religion that justifies the imperialism that is the real political heart of Islam. The leader of the cult, Allah, is unassailable and unimpeachable because he is a "god". When you strip all the flowery words away, this is what I see.
  • SirWilhelm
Your pathetic religion is the myth Solkhar.
  • funkybarfly
It seems to me that Geert Wilders is on trial for simply pointing out the elephant in the room.
What could be more Islamic than prohibiting, under threat of punishment, criticism of Islam or it's fleabag prophet?
Freedom of speech is always the first thing to go under fascist, socialist or Islamic regimes: the bedfellows.
  • hellosnackbar
    Spot on Funky!
For those of you who are following this overtly political show trial;one can view and hear Geert's address to the court@
    http://europenewsdk/en/node29245
Watch it Solkhar you'll understand what he says(it has English subtitle);and whilst you're at it see and hear the insane rantings of some Imams on the glory of matyrdom(the 2nd Imam looks like he's got a stretched condom on his head;right down to the apical reservoir;what a dickhead!!)That's on 29225!;these turds add a whole new dimension to the concept of stupid!
