Vanderbilt Muslim professor admits that Islam mandates death for homosexuals

Oops, yet another “moderate” Muslim letting the cat out of the bag.  Where’s that damn Taqiyya when you need it?

Vanderbilt’s Youth for Western Civilization president questions Professor Awadh A. Binhazim at Vanderbilt’s “Common Ground” event about Muslims in the military on January 25, 2010. Dr. Binhazim says Islamic law calls for homosexuality to be punished by death.

[...]

The event went as expected, with Vanderbilt Adjunct Professor Awadh A. Binhazim provided a thirty-minute, flowers-and-butterflies overview of Islam, and Captain Darryl Cox explaining how much intolerance and discrimination he experiences as a Muslim in the military, all the while remaining silent on the subject of the Fort Hood Massacre. His talk left you with the same New York Times taste in your mouth that Major Hasan was motivated not by Islamic laws and the Islamic religion (like this man admits), but because somebody told one-too-many Muslim jokes.

While all of this was true to form, the real action happened during the Q&A, when I asked Professor Binhazim if he accepts the Religion of Peace’s stance on the punishment for homosexuality:

Me: Under Islamic law is it punishable by death if you are a homosexual?

Professor Binhazim: Yes. It is punishable by death.

Shocking, yes?

It shouldn’t be.

The death penalty for homosexuality is common dogma throughout the Muslim world, and, as Professor Binhazim reluctantly admitted, it is Islamic law itself, which all Muslims must accept.

“God is very straightforward about this — not we Muslims, not subjective, the Sharia is very clear about it, the punishment for homosexuality, bestiality or anything like that is death. We don’t make any excuses about that, it’s not our law — it’s the Koran.”

That is an untrue statement about beastiality...the ayatollah khomeni wrote a whole thesis on how to have sex with animals. According to him, it is quite OK. And I still got to wonder, just what they consider to be 'homosexuality' . Because there is an awful lot of sodomy going on over in the middle east.

No person is born homosexual, just like no one is born a thief, a liar or murderer. People acquire these evil habits due to a lack of proper guidance and education.

There are many reasons why it is forbidden in Islam. Homosexuality is dangerous for the health of the individuals and for the society. It is a main cause of one of the most harmful and fatal diseases. It is disgraceful for both men and women. It degrades a person. Islam teaches that men should be men and women should be women. Homosexuality deprives a man of his manhood and a woman of her womanhood. It is the most un-natural way of life. Homosexuality leads to the destruction of family life.

Please note that there is a difference to actually being involved in a homosexual act -which is a sin - from having sexual feelings that you try to control, that you don’t express in public, which is not sinful if you try to control them. If medical or psychological counseling helps, then get it.

What is sinful in homosexuality is the actual sexual act between the couple of a similar sex. if you transform your desires into a struggle and a challenge to overcome it and not physically commit it, you will get the reward for it.

Remember, there is in this world many compulsive gamblers, alcoholics, adulterers, thieves, but many of them control it and refrain from doing it. The same thing with homosexuality.

This issue might actually turn out to be a good publicity in a way. More eyes will be opened, people will get curious, and try to seek the truth independently by themselves without being influenced by others. Have you ever thought that the more you attack, the more it grows? This is something you will never understand until you sincerely seek the truth. May God guide us all
